Actually, it sounds like you have an ingrown nail. See if you can push the skin back a bit to see whether the nail is growing sideways. If it is, you'll have to hack it out of there or it will just keep getting worse as it grows into the skin. It hurts like a mofo, but it's the only way to fix it (I had to perform this op on a big toe once...not fun).

It must be doing it further down in the nail, because I can't see anything growing weird in there.

I just snipped the tip of the puss area, and I got out a bunch of highlighter/neon green thick as sh!t puss out of it. It still hurts, but now the pressure-feeling has gone down and there's a tiny empty pocket next to my nail.

Hmm, maybe you got a splinter or something in there and it closed over and abcessed. That would explain all the goo. See a doc for some antibiotics if it doesn't clear up.

Sounds exactly like an ingrown nail. My two big toes get them all the time, as does my ring finger a lot. Just be a man, take the pain, and dig it out and clip it. It hurts like a SOB, and bleeds and oozes pus all over the place, but it feels a lot better afterwards.

Trust, me, the pain doesn't matter (you're talking to the freak who practically operated on his knee when he was 10, because a drill bit got shoved in it). I WOULD do whatever it takes, but there isn't anything! The skin grows up to a certain part, and everything above it is perfectly normal. The puss was at the side, next to the right part of the nail.

i hope it spreads to your other fingers, then your hands fall off. you'll have to use your feet for everything. those gigantic skis, and we will call you monkeyboy maul. hehe, that would be funny.

You really really need to post a pic of this. Then maybe we can all help you. Otherwise it sometimes helps if you take that finger and shove it...
