Did you see this monitor???
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116375

After rebate it's like $70 more than your rosewill, but it's better quality, higher contrast ratio, lower response time (12ms vs 2ms)

Other than that question, I think you have a smoking system picked out. Should overclock great...if you have the cash and that's your intent, then I'd suggest looking into a big typhoon or zalman9500 or some other aftermarket HSF like that.

Upgrade the mobo to an Expert, or downgrade to an Ultra. With a single card there is no reason to get the SLI-DR. Also FYI the ultra can be modded to use SLI if thats your thing down the line.

Well, I just ordered a Seasonic 500 watt power supply. And I ordered a BenQ DW1655 DVD-RW. I`d also rather go with the ATI X1900 video card.

But, the power supply is a iffy issue. With a very powerful video card, you might want the Enermax power supply with the 36A 12V single rail at monarch computer. I believe it`s 550 watts if I remember correctly.

I`m also going to order a 300 GB Samsung Spinpoint hard drive.

change the case. thats horrible. change the psu to something from seasonic enermax or fsp for the quieter and better cooling 120mm fan. rosewill makes bad parts in general, i'd get something from either NEC, samsung, sony, etc..
i've also had some very bad experiences with DFi. bsod's, freezes, restartes, no boots. etc for 2 months straight trying to deal with it. i gave it many chances then decided to return it and go back to asus, the only reliable mb company imo

no, you will need at least a Radeon 1900XT or GEforce 7900GTX to make it rock, depending upon your selection of games.

I was looking for a 19" LCD Monitor, which has a net price of about $160 or below...the one I have chosen falls into this range after u consider the rebate....but as always, if u find a better option, please tell me....

if you want to spend only $160 on a monitor, make sure it's not a crappy 19". if there's a better quality 17" out there, go for that.

drop down to a DFI Ultra-D board

get this Enermax Liberty 500 for $90 instead of ur powerstream

I'm building a similar rig, you can get the cpu for the same price as an X2 3800+ at mwave.com, look there if you want to.

I sugest buying socket AM2, the CPU's are $10 cheaper and DDR2 comes in much higher memory densities than DDR1. Dont expect DDR1 dimms to get much bigger than 2GB a piece. Also DDR1's price is starting on an upswing while DDR2 keeps getting bigger, cheaper, and faster.
