Nah, I won't actually make a female character simply because I'm not a female. I'm not a roleplayer by any means, but I like my characters to be a reflection of myself in some ways... hence why I don't act like a douche in game like most people do (Penny Arcade's Green Blackboards and Other Anomalies anyone?). The only time I ever play a female character is when it's not my character, but I'm on it for some reason.
Speaking of playing other people's characters... this one time I was doing Kel'Thuzad in Heroic Naxxramas, and as an Enhancement Shaman, I typically task myself with interrupting his Frost Bolt. To do this, I either use Earth Shock or Wind Shock. The latter is used when I just used another move before and I'm still on what's called the Global Cooldown (GCD), because the latter is a move that isn't affected by the 1.5 second GCD.
Well, the problem is... the icon for Wind Shock is the exact same as Windfury Weapon and it seems the person that was playing my account before couldn't find my Windfury Weapon button and decided to replace my Wind Shock with it. So during the fight, I kept reapplying Windfury instead of interrupting 😱. I only realized that I was doing this when I noticed that my Windfury Weapon imbue had about 10 minutes longer left on it out of its 30 minute duration than Flametongue Weapon did on my off-hand weapon.
Of course when I told the person that did it about this, she found it quite funny :frown:.
I won't create a guy toon, simply because, like Aikouka said, I like my character to be a reflection of myself. My character had the same short hair I did a few months ago (it has grown since), and red hair just like I tried dying it to (by coincidence) a few months ago as well. It's also the reason why I rolled a blood elf, and not a tauren. I am not a cow!

Blood Elf Warlock from what I've gathered... I remember trying to guess the spec from reading some of the blog posts and it sounded like Affliction to me. She mentioned Shadow Bolt, Curse of Agony and Corruption, which the only spec that uses Shadow Bolt anymore is Affliction as it serves as a filler in-between your DoTs and Haunt and also starts off your Shadow Embrace stack.
Used to play Affliction myself until I switched to ezmode Feltard-Emberstorm.
Her realm is also mentioned in one of the blog posts I believe... but I forget which one it was. Some odd sounding realm name 😛.
I love Warlocks and Shamans. I'm a caster, what can I say? I'm not a fan of melee, after I tried leveling a paladin...but it's very difficult to solo when you're spec'd holy, and despite the fact that ret pallys are totally OP, they're a pain in the fucking ass to level.
I don't think I mentioned in an earlier post about my ex and I's toons on his ally server...that'll be topic for conversation this week, then. I'll wait until tomorrow to write it. WWDC open bars await tonight!

Mmm... this thread became relevant/of interest to me as soon as the warlock part came out (I play one). And by play one I mean play it extensively, in both pvp/pve, only I hate bringing it up outside of WoW because its sort of like a heroin-addict talking about his habit. Awkwardness follows.
Edit: @ Aikouka, Felguard/Emberstorm is pretty mindless, but 0/13/58 is superior with 4pc T8.5, imo. Also uses less shards and positioning the imp is a lot easier than messing around with felguard. And thats the last bit of WoW discussion I will hopefully do in this thread.

Hahah...timosyy do you remember the VW that got buffed during a Sarth raid with (I think, don't quote me) 3 drakes, and he tanked it himself? And then VWs ended up getting nerfed because of it? That warlock is a friend of mine, who built my talent tree 🙂 He's a great guy...helped me to finally figure out how to gank those GD priests. I fucking hate priests!

nerdress-- I do remember. The VW hp nerf killed their viability in arenas when it happened. Tell your friend I don't blame him though, its just Blizzard being stupid with their fix (could've just capped max hp). Priests are either easy or somewhat difficult depending on your spec (affliction/destro)... you seem to enjoy ganking quite a bit 😉. Personally I never go out of my way but it always makes me smile when someone tries (because its more embarrassing when they die)-- for some reason the Gladiator tag dissuades very few alliance baddies.
Haha...well I'm on a PvP server, so after being ganked every 5 minutes in Tanaris, I'm enjoying my time of DoTing all the little assholes who run past me. Besides, I get my fair share of karma thrown back at me when 5 ally DK's camp my corpse. Thank goodness I have patience, because that pissed me off.

I've never actually played Shamans as Elemental as mine is Enhancement and Resto as his off-spec, but I've been tempted to switch to elemental on so many raid fights because of how melee unfriendly they are 😛.
Ret Pallies aren't so bad to level. They're really just boring as hell for the first forty levels because you literally just sit there in between judgments hoping to god that Seal of Command will proc and actually deal some damage. When you get above 40 and get Crusader Strike, it gets a little bit better. Then once you get Seal of Blood (Seal of the Martyr for Alliance), you finally get to see the huge numbers 😀.
My Paladin isn't geared that well ( mostly heroic-level stuff: http://www.wowarmory.com/chara...xml?r=Alleria&n=Darrox ) and he can pull 3k on a single target in heroics.
There's nothing wrong with it 😉. I remember walking around in Circuit City in the computer section and I was wearing some WoW-related shirt (I don't normally so visibly associate myself with gaming). One of the employees came up and started talking to me about WoW and how one of his fellow employees got him into playing. He went as far as to show me his character on one of the cash registers (since they're just PCs) 😛.
Oh and I don't know if I've ever seen you post in the WoW thread that we have in the PC Gaming section.
Yeah, my Warlock is just one of my 80s that I play ever so often... I really don't have the time to gear him up extensively because I'm usually either raiding on my Shaman (in 10 or 25) and then I have to do all the dailies after that 🙁. But amusingly enough, I usually bring my Warlock in on Archavon after we kill Emalon and I can out-DPS some of the mains.
Yeah, that happened after they boosted the Warlock pet HP because their survivability in PVP was so poor. That HP boost combined with high stamina on the caster and the 75% AoE avoidance made the VW a good tank on Sart+3D. Also, the fact that you spend almost a minute and a half not even attacking Sartharian (you're fighting the other three drakes and the little adds) gives the VW time to build up aggro, since threat gen has always been the weak point of a voidwalker.
I'm assuming he just gave you a typical build off EJ though.
Which spec priest were you having trouble with though? Also, ganking is mean 😛.

I was going to start this as a post but what the hell, I'll put it here anyway:
My ex got me involved in WoW, and I spent a good week and a half before installing it considering my roll options. I did not know what race or class to pick, and so I carefully went through all of them and did what research I could--I even asked one of my coworkers what he thought I should roll. I figured that I did not want this to become something that bored me, and so picking a fun class would help me to get into it better. I chose a Shaman, and after spec'ing Elemental for the first 20 levels, I decided to re-spec to Resto because my boyfriend was a Hunter; meaning he could tank and do DPS, while I would just heal.
I'd have to say my happiest times with him involve a) playing pool (we're both avid pool players, although he is much better when drunk and I'm much better when sober), and b) playing WoW. We had our disagreements but there were some times when he and I would quest for 10 hours. We would get so good playing together that we would run through quests in minutes, even with a low drop rate. I'd have to say...it was pretty amazing.
I miss that, but I don't miss being alliance. FOR THE HORDE! 😛
