Last I heard, Honeycomb would follow Gingerbread? Samsung better be johnny on the stop with a Gingerbread update for the Galaxy Tab though.

It would make sense for Honeycomb to follow, I was just thinking out loud.

LOL and you think that will actually happen? Look at their mobile phone division and imagine that, but with less developing experience.

I love it when people think that companies have a bunch of people fresh out of school, with no experience of the business they are in, working on new products. :hmm:

with Samsung, that's pretty fitting. They design great looking products but they always seem to fail just enough to disapoint.

Google has plenty of people fresh out of school working on new projects. The difference is, they hire the top percent who are capable of doing that. It's not like they aren't working alongside experienced engineers.

Maybe you meant making decisions on new products? That would be insane.

I think you miss-read my post, I said "I love it when people think...", not "I love it that". It was a comment toward the poster I quoted and actually when I re-read it I did miss out the "without help from experienced professionals". My bad.

I meant less developing experience because tablets are a new sector in the market. Also, just look at the track record Samsung has for support for their devices; it isn't especially great. Froyo has been out for months now, but they haven't released it yet for their top-tier phones? That is a serious problem.

It's a different form factor, not a new platform.

A different form factor is essentially a new platform. A tablet is not a phone, therefore you use it differently. Thus, development is different. If development is different, then they have less experience.

so the latest rumor is that Gingerbread will be 2.3 and not 3.0. Its looking like . updates are getting more and more features. Makes you wonder what they have up their sleeves for 3.0?

Google's great at adding new shit, but doesn't seem to care about fixing broke shit. I bet when 3.0 comes my calendar still will only sync half the time. Remarkable at how they want to add everything under the sun but never want to finish anything.

Never seen anyone have problems syncing the calendar. Works 100% of the time. Wireless syncing where ever you are is one of the greatest things ever and no one else has it except Palm.

I'll cut the guy a break. Not everyone spends 12+ hours a day cruising cell phone websites like I do.

Plus, without his post I would have never watched that video. That's a HUGE freaking gingerbread man!
