I'm in the process of filling a claim. My package wasn't left at the front door as fedex claimed. The only good part was, their CSRs were friendly and speak English.

It probably was left at the front door. Someone else now has a nice new quad core processor.

or maybe it was and someone took it. I'm not pointing any fingers. Anyways, if you insured it or it required delivery confirmation, then they have to replace it/refund.

Delivery confirmation is not the same as signature confirmation.

they do it under the pretense that if it's lost they are responsible, statistically, it's cheaper to leave it than come back.

I once lost a USPS package with Radeon AIW 8500. damn!

This year my packages disappeared 3 times at Jersey City USPS facility. The tracking showed "enroute" at Jersey City, but never updated. Fortunately both DDD, Amazon and Shop4tech sent me the new packages using UPS instead.

Worst for me was a brand new laptop never made it to me.
I purchased an Alienware gaming laptop. Back when they first came out with one powerful enough really to game on. I ordered it, was told it takes about 10 days to make. They shipped it 4 months later, it tracked to a depot in Il and never left there. It took UPS 2 weeks to declare it lost, Alienware 4 days to settle with UPS and 10 more days to make me another one. So almost 6 months after I ordered the damn thing it finally showed up. I kept it for 6 months and sold it. That experiance just kind of sucked all the fun out of owning the thing.
