My favorite band of all time

Hankerton

Golden Member
Alice in Chains!!!

Hands down, I can't think of any band I like more then them.

R.I.P. Layne Staley

Imagine what could've happened if Layne was able to kick his habit. Now I have to wait and wait and wait to see if the remaining band members are ever going to put out an album. (Jerry C. has only been doing west coast shows as of late, but I have both his albums)

Do you guys have a band that affects you the way AIC does for me?

If he could kick his habit he'd probably make sh*t music, so it's best he went down while still respected as musician. Jar of flies was my favourite album of theirs. Just awesome. I even had the t-shirt.

I don't like every song of any band. It used to be Dream Theater, but their last two albums haven't done it for me. Maybe my tastes have changed.

That said I really like Dream Theater, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and The Doors.

SFAM was a good album.

Now it's mostly a-ha, duran duran and the beatles.

I don't know why, I could just never get into 80's rock. Ugggh, makes me ill just thinking about it. I gotta give props to Duran Duran though, they had a lot of influence on future rockers, not to mention they're still around.

haha, nice. Do you know what that song is about? If you've seen the video, you get a clear explanation.

Is that just opinion, or did you read that somewhere?

I know Jar of Flies was the first (and I believe still) only EP ever to hit #1 on the charts.

Yeah, "Scenes From a Memory" was the last one I liked. "Six Degrees" and "Train of Thought" were just kind of... meh.

It's my opinion, and as such is fact 🙂

my favorite band of all time is probably nine inch nails.

Never saw the video, thus I haven't a clue what the song is about.

You can't really argue with AIC. That's good stuff.

My favorite band of all time has to be Queen. No lead singer can step to Freddie's awesomeness.

I always liked Soundgarden a lot more.

I always thought it was about the guys fathers' experience during the Vietnam War.

A-Ha, a very underappreciated band of the 80s. I really enjoyed their recent album 'Minor Earth, Major Sky'.

Wow, this is awesome, I'm getting great reply's from you guys.

First, Zoiks, I totally agree

Skoorb, hahaha, I personally love the beginning to "I Stay Away" but that song just reminds me of that whole music era. (just a personal impression)

Amish, I can't argue with you in the least bit. NIN (Trent) is in my top 10 of all time. Can't wait for the new album (just a couple months away!!!)

Rudee, Rooster was written by Jerry Cantrel (not Layne) but is all about his relationship with his father and his fathers post-traumatic stress to the Vietnam war. Great tune, not one of my favorites though. (prolly cause I've heard it a biiiiillion times)

DougK62, Queen definitely rocks, nobody could wail like Freddie M. could!!! (RIP Freddie). I always compared his voice to that of Chris Cornell who is rightfully mentioned by cKGunslinger. (Soundgarden was classic, Audioslave=meh)
