My fav game of All Time UT locks up my system! HELP

Recently installed XP on the rig in my sig....and now...UT loads the startup screen..once I get to the screen where it says the news..it freezes the entire computer..

Ive updated all drivers, patched to latest version...uninstalled and reinstalled...

Is there something else that I have to do here?

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

formatting helps
did you flash your mobo's bios to the newest one? sometimes that helps... it helped me out with my UT.

xp is bad w/ games compatability. but its so pretty...

That happens to me on and off. I put the compatibility to win98/winme. It works sometimes but once in a while it still frezes up.

If you have a VIA mobo, update its drivers (especially the AGP one)
