Ughhhhhhh, I drive by this all the time. Sorry for your loss ;(

To give a little background - the 105 east ends about 3 miles? after Paramount Blvd. Lakewood Blvd is after Paramount, and then the 605 freeway, where it ends.

What happens is that the freeway goes from being a five lane freeway to a three lane freeway in a very short amount of time, probably because the freeway is going to end soon. The 710 freeway is the main entry/exit before paramount and the ramp to get onto the 105 from the 710 ends almost immediately and merges, probably causing very many accidents and close calls.

There is another lane that ends and merges around paramount (bringing it down to three lanes), and quite often you see people forcing to merge, otherwise go to the shoulder. It's really stupid because there is ALOT of room for the lane to keep going, but they make it merge for whatever reason. Not only do these lane terminations cause the 105 east after the 710 to have permanent traffic in the afternoon, but anyone who really isn't paying attention can end up on the shoulder quite easily.

I can attest to this. 105 has a very dangerous shoulder. I have driven into it many times myself. Sometimes they are indistinguishable to lanes.

I am soo sorry for your loss may he rest in peace.

If there is anything i can do or you need someone to talk to feel free to pm me.

Love,
Darkstar

My condolences. This is why I also would not change my tire on the freeway. I prefer paying a tow truck to come and tow it to my house or some place safe rather than risking my life. This is ALL too common throughout the world. People just don't know how to drive!

How horrible. 🙁

I just drove through that stretch of freeway about an hour before your father's accident happened, coming home from my cousin's place in South Gate. Merging onto the 105-E from the 710-S, it's difficult to see where all those merging right-hand lanes end and the shoulder begins, esp. at night. I also lost a best friend of mine who I hadn't been in contact with for years when he stopped to help someone else change a tire. Sometimes life just sucks.

My deepest condolences go out to you & your family in your time of such great loss. May your father rest in peace.

I just Reservation Road, the movie is has very similar circumstances. I'm starting to learn to drive more slowly and hope everyone else will be safer on the road.

I would recommend NO ONE ever change a tire anymore on the side of the road. Too many people have had the habit here to actually drift behind cars in the emergency lanes and plow into them.

The story is always the same, the driver thought the 'car' was moving. People have hit cops/motorcycle cops alot.

I don't even pack a spare unless I know I am going somewhere AAA will not.

Nothing is that important that can't let me wait an hour or two when a tow truck tows me to the next service location or plugs my tire on the spot.
