It shouldn't be a dealbreaker, just personal preference. If you're happy with the lever design, to each his own.

Didn't know Magnus is a chef. In any case, there are as many opinions as there are tools of the trade. Doesn't make any one wrong or right. Would like to hear why the lever model is better other than durability though. The Viking mixer with a flip up head is arguably more durable than any Kitchen Aid, so I don't see how just being flip up makes it any less durable.
No, it's not the design itself that is or isn't durable, it's the fact that the more powerful ones are strictly bowl-lift.

dude, was just checking if he got a brand new one or store resealed return...

WorstBuy is good for that. They'll take a return, and put it back on the shelf without checking it. I like open box items if they've been checked. I couldn't care less about scratches, or missing manuals if it's for my use, but it better be checked. I've gotten stuff that a 5 year old wouldn't pass, the problem was so obvious :^S

The Costco here is selling the Professional Series for $375 CDN. I don't know what's included, but that's a little expensive for me.

Fry's has been horrible about that over the years.

not sure.

They only have one colour and it looks like nickel or something.

I will do more checking later this week.

I like my Pro 600 even if it is the older one with plastic casing. I don't do heavy dough load on it :p

I've been telling my wife for so long to buy me one of these for xmas, and pizza output, cookie output, shit, just about anything in the kitchen which can be output, will increase. She keeps saying its too expensive.... Lousy woman is only good for delicious sandwiches.
