just because somebody is necroing a thread doesn't mean they're always spammers

you'd be surprised how many times AT turns up if you're googling a problem, and some people register without even thinking about looking at the date

old age. I used to be 20/20 now I need glasses for driving and readers for up close work.

i have to go for an appointment soon, now i am curious to what level of vision my contacts/glasses take me to.

i've been at -3.25 on one eye and -3.5 in the other for almost 20 years now. i used to wear the 2 week contacts for 3 months straight for years. never did a damn thing to affect my vision. then i used to use the 1 a day contacts for like 2 weeks at a time. now for the past 2 years i use the one a days for about 3 days at a time. every few weeks i give my eyes a break from contacts with my glasses.

last time at a new eyedoctor (Costco) she was blown away when i told her how i'd worn my contacts. she was pissed. she said if she saw even something so slightly wrong with my eye health, she would not prescribe contacts to me. she was pretty amazed that everything was pretty perfect in that regard. i got the script for contacts.

pffft. I'm at -8 on my contacts. It dropped steadily every year or so since I was 13, but seems to have stopped at -8 about 3 years ago.

My eyes stopped going bad by the time I was 30. Ended with -2.5 in one and -3 in the other I believe.

I then got lasik, only after I found my eyesight stopped deteriorating.

I think dryness, close monitor viewing during work, helps promote deterioration, but I think alot of it has to due with aging process.
