There are some real uptight women out there, but most seem to appreciate what Dove is doing.

That sounds like an outstanding place to do a forum raid on.

this "women need to be physically attractive" mentality that has been set in our society for so long.

You make that sound like a bad thing? Most people should want to be physically attractive. The problem is when physically attractive becomes unnatural (gained through starvation, etc) but most truely beautiful people in our society are just extremely healthy examples of the human body.

And of course, youth will always be something to envy, you can't change that with a clever marketing campaign. Well, until we find a way to stop aging, until then, youth is a fleeting moment. As we age we get uglier and continue to have to deal with more and more health issues until we look death in the face. That is just part of life. Deal.

One piece of all this that I think Dove is addressing is the fact that we are living longer than every before and that if we take care of ourselves, those years will be active and happy.Enjoying relative good health for longer than our grandparents and parents have is a wonderful thing.Taking good care of our skin goes hand in hand with following a healthy diet, with exercising, with watching out for issues like bone loss that crippled so many of our grandmothers.

I was taught that once a woman hit menopause that her life was basically over, that sex stopped, that her hair needed to be cut short, her wardorobe replaced with matronly outfits.Thank heavens none of those things are true! Living longer is only good if we also stay relatively healthy and happy for longer as well!

Man, I was scared at first, because when I clicked on those links my testicles started to tingle and that freaked me out. Then I realized they were retreating up into my abdomen!

BAN!

Wow, it's a new drug-free, no-surgery, visually-delivered form of sterilization!

it gets worse... older women have sex too!

Some of the best sex you'll ever have, too. No teenie bopper little 20 something (or younger) can hold a candle to a mature (35+) woman in bed.

ive seen that in a movie... then the 35+ held the candle to to the 20 yr old. pretty informative.

As to the products themselves, not only don't most of them not work but they are far spendier than some things that do work in terms of good skincare.look in stores like wagreen's and CVS some of this stuff goes $30 for a small bottle or jar, department store lines sell for $100 and up.

Many boomer aged women are well off fiscally and Dove is hoping to snag some of that money away from designer skincare lines.

What you say is probably true, as far as the intentions of Dove. It is smart of them!

As for me... I am technically a boomer, but I use Shiseido. Dove is ok for soap, but they will not catch my interest for face care.

Nobody expects 25 yr old guys to like us grandmothers but not for anything we are mothers, sisters and yes wives and the constant bashing we take for growing older,a condition that we can't stop is so freaking hurtful, you have no clue.

Are you honestly being serious? I'm sure the OP is no older than 25, if that. It is natural for him to not be attracted to an aging woman. Same way old men don't get young women unless they have $$$.

Ummm, they really don't care about you. The market for this advert isn't 15-25 year old males.

Don't worry, I'm sure the 18 year old girls will still love you when you're 65 years old...

Dove is betting that boomer women won't be changing the channel.Boomer gals, most of em have solid careers and command considerable buying power!
