my eye is twitching ...

Ok, this is bizzare. My right eye has been slightly twitching for the past few days, at random intervals. It's actually the lower eyelid that's slightly contracting. It's not painful, and not really visible unless you stare at it up close, but it's incredibly annoying (up there with yogurt lids ripping to shreds when you try to open them).

The thing is, I have no idea why this is happening. I haven't changed my routine the past week at all. Nada, nothing. It doesn't happen for long either. Maybe a few times an hour, for 10 seconds or so. I thought it could be stress related or lack of sleep, but I've been stressed and not getting enough sleep for years and nothing's happened. Any ideas?

It is stress induced. I researched it for a few days a few years ago. I had it for almost an entire year (my last year of college). About a month after graduation, it went away. 🙂

curse you all! except maybe shilala. so .. seriously, wtf?
It's winter time. Low humidity=dry eyes. The best stuff is the lubricating artificial tears cause it lasts awhile. You can get Artificial tears at Wally or any old drug store.
Stress my ass. Psychosis, maybe. Throw in an ulcer with those symptoms and there's a good case for stress.
May I now be cursed as well? I feel left out.

My eye twitches like that when I'm stressed or tired. If I haven't had a good night sleep in a few days, I can count on my eye lid twitching.

".........twitching may be due to simple muscle fatigue, eye strain, stress, drug reactions, and even caffeine. In other cases, it could indicate a disease or situation requiring serious attention..........

Twitching generally occurs as a result of an overwrought nervous system unloading impulses. It is most common during rest from stress and strain..."

Worse case Myontonia Congenita

Twitching eye can also be caused by an overload of gammies penetrating your tinfoil hat.
It can also be a symptom of beri beri and scurvy.
Honest to God, try the eyedrops. If that doesn't get it, get some Xanex from one of your buddies (or go see your doctor).

I usually got it after sleeping with my contacts in, or looking at a monitor too long (i.e. eye strain). Haven't had it in awhile tho!

i only had it once in my life. And it was because of me stressing over a problem with this girl i was trying to get with.
