It's just the way our male dominated culture is. I think Freud had it in reverse when he was talking about the relationships of dads and their daughters. Males are encouraged by virtue of testosterone to go out and get hoes, while females, being perceived as the gentler sex, as well as perhaps more virtuous than males by fact of their more shapely bodies (for the most part) are meant to be protected from this rougher aspect of society.

It's a very ingrained issue within the mindset and subconscious of people I think.

The word you are looking for is "double standard" - i.e. one set of morals and values for the son, and another set for the daughter.

You can't apply hypocrite in this scenario, because the dad isn't the one actually involved with the sex.

A hypocritical scenario might be if the Dad tells his children that drugs are bad, but is secretly a massive pothead (note how he is actually performing an action in this situation).

Perhaps you're right but it's just a matter of semantics, how can I respect a person like that?

Does your Dad know?

If so, does he care?

He didnt want to think that his precious was getting pounding or doing anything that wasnt pure. Sons dont get that same kind of treatment whatsoever.

I might be inclined to post some, but seeing as everyone is siding with her dad...

You wouldn't want that, decent body, butterface, I don't have pics of her anyway.

I totally understand, and I think the guy is a douche for applying different standards to his son compared to his daughter. I wouldn't respect him for it either. I'm just saying you're not describing it correctly.

"Hypocritical" and "double standard" are not synonyms. They are two terms with distinctly different meanings.

Perhaps that's a bit selfish. You refuse to put yourself in his shoes or understand the position he or ex is in, and yet you call him names and blame him for your inability to close the deal.

I'm not blaming you for your animalian instincts, but I do think that a little more understanding might have gone a long way. Maybe not sneaking around to fuck people.

That just sounds a bit redneck.

this is freaking normal... unless he's celebrating that his daughter is banging some guy right now. you have no room to talk.

he's not a hypocrite, and i think applying the double standard label is even too far.

POS? i dunno.. maybe for some other reason... but not this one.

I totally agree. Every time some guy will open a taxi door for a girl, but not me, I totally lose all respect for him and want to spit in his face.

Or when a guy will let a girl onto the elevator before him, but if it's just me waiting, he'll go ahead and walk on himself. Son of a bitch should be castrated!

:disgust:

That's his way of saying, "That's mah boy!" You don't hear a dad saying, "That's mah girl!" when he knows his daughter "scored." It's just inconceivable!

Double standard it is then, you learn something new everyday.

I see your point, the funny thing is he was the only one with an issue, the rest of the family was ok with it, like when he was not around we would go to her room and close the door no problem but it just felt dumb having to wait for the old man to fall asleep when he was in the house.

If I had a daughter I wouldn't have completely different standards for the exact same thing.

I guess you pat a guy on the back when you learn he earns more money than his female coworker, for the same amount of work, and you totally support locking up your daughters in the basement to protect them from the outside world :disgust:

I might be a bit bothered thinking someone's banging my daughter, but I won't celebrate my son doing the same.
