hehehe I made a Hackintosh:
Using Bad Axe Motherboard:
Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz (on air could do more)
8GB Memory
8800GTS
2x750GB HD's
It's rock stable too. Got all my music software on there without a problem.
Heck you cannot even buy a Mac Pro running at 3.6Ghz from Apple!
Oooh and it is on a DVI-DL KVM switch that allows me to switch between my Mac and PC on a Dell 30" LCD with the click of a button (or remote).
Oh yeah and it has a firewire Presonus Firepod on the Mac and Firebox on the PC that connected to a mixer all of which fits under a custom made hutch with a 2U rack on each side. And then to the 6" KRK monitors. So I can have sound coming from both computers at the same time.
Oh that is right and then a M-audio 88es 88 key midi controller connected to both the Mac and PC.
I'll have to post a pic of this later as you can tell I'm very impressed with myself
It's all connected together via Gigabit ethernet and will connect to a NAS when I get around to putting it together.
(This project has seriously taken me like three months and God knows how much money.)
.. God I do not even want to think about how much all this cost.
Hackintosh:
Case: $75
PSU: $75
HDDS: $400
Q6600: $300
Tsiniq: $50
Ram: $250
Video: $275
Motherboard: $150
So $1800 x 2 (similar specs for pc) = $3600
Firewire cards + mixer + power conditioner: $800
Switch and monitor: ~1500
Keyboard: $200
Custom made hutch + speakers = $500
So yeah this whole thing is probably worth about $6500. (I had to take out a student loan to finance this).
Oh yeah I spent close to $1000 on music software so make that $7500.
Expensive but not that bad seeing as how I pretty much have a pretty high end music studio in my room.
