My Epidermis Took A beating Today

Ornery

Lifer
My face and forearms got sunburned nicely, and I've got quite a few blisters on my palms from digging. The fun continues tomorrow, so I'm going to Walmart for a straw hat, or sombrero, leather gloves, and some kind of lotion. Which lotion would be first choice? Anything better than an Aloe Vera based cream?

My God! I though the title said "My Epididymis Took a beating Today" and you that you are looking for a better lotion.

I was going to tell you to find a girlfriend but now I'm telling myself to go to the eye doctor to get checked out.

You do not want to put any type of lotion on your sunburn - that'll keep the heat in. Get straight up Aloe Vera and put that on...I guess you have to put some sunscreen on, but if you put too much on, you'll be dying...

I've got plenty of sunscreen here, but didn't take any to the job site. Hell, it was supposed to rain today!

Can I buy straight aloe vera from the pharmacy? They want $10.00 for 4oz. here! :Q

That's what i use, Rite Aid or whatever drug store you go to should have something similar.

once...i needed aloe..really bad

chopped my aloe plant from the backyard up...(a few of those prickly leaves...or whatever)
squeed that stuff out and rubbed it on my skin

how's that for being ghetto??!

Hawaiian Tropic Cool Aloe Gel, my grocery store has it in a little tanning display thing in the middle of the store. I live by this stuff.

Ooh, nice suggestions, and nice prices. My wife just went to Marc's, to get a prescription for our son. She asked if I wanted anything, so I suggested she try and track down some of this aloe vera gel, for a decent price. If she has no luck, I'll try Walmart, or Walgreens on the way to the job tomorrow.

Thanks Loads!

Here's a further suggestion: keep the aloe vera gel in your fridge. It feels soooo good to use it cold. If you burn yourself while cooking, it's right there.

Also, on the sunburn, after you have thoroughly aloe'd up, you can cover it with a coat of baby oil to help lock in the moisture. Will also help prevent peeling, and plus I find it just feels perversely good to coat myself in baby oil, and sunburn is a good excuse for that.

Ach, my wife dragged home 15 OZ. of Jergens Soothing Aloe Lotion for $3.57. It smells like perfume, and I have no idea how much aloe is in it, but it has more water, glycerin and cetearyl alcohol than aloe vera gel.

This morning I went to Walmart, because Rite Aid is on the other side of the city. I found 24 OZ. of 100% Aloe Vera Gel for $3.92! :Q It has no fragrance at all, and isn't greasy. It feels wonderful! I bet it would make a perfect after shave.

Thanks for the help!

You actually tan on purpose? 😕

If I had known yesterday would be so sunny, I'd have used SPF-45 sunblock. I've got zero interest in getting a tan. My sister is about 5 years younger than me, and her skin looks older, thanks to her sun tanning habits. Between that, and the risk of skin cancer, I just don't want anything to do with it.

Yeah, you need a little sun, helps produce Vitamin-D. Plus, it's easier to pick up women with a nice brown tint. 😉 Makes you look healthy, even though it's nothing but damage.

Well, go easy, because it can't be reversed. Honestly, you should see my peers who like to tan. Damn! You just can't believe how many years it puts on you!
