Hey.
Started eating primal (like paleo, but with cheese/milk basically - no wheat, no rice, no beans) in October of 2011. Down to 181 from 340 in June 2010. Im 5ft 11inches.
Dropped 15 lbs since October with the new eating.
Started 5x5 in October - been doing that 3x a week.
Started with bar.
Squatting 205 now.
Deadlifting 205.
Rowing 140.
Overhead press 80.
Bench 150
Bodyweight dips 3x10
Chinups 10
Pullups 3
I do other stuff too. I do 100 pushups a day (3 sets of 33). I do 100 air squats on off days weight lifting, and I ride a bike around 50 miles every weekend.
None of these are 1 rep maxes - all are 5x5. I intend to build till I get about 1.25 times my body weigh on squats and deads, and I'm just going to maintain. I don't want to get body builder big - but I'd like to be very toned. I do want to do 20 pullups in a row. It has been like pulling teeth to get 3 pullups. I am progressing much more quickly on dips and chin ups.
Bodyfat fell from 17% in October (per caliper) to 11.9% as of today.
So I'm cutting and building strength, so it is not impossible (as alot of ppl say).
