My eggs taste boring

For fried eggs, a little olive oil, and little butter. Salt, generous amount of black pepper, and a good couple dashes of red pepper. Always tastes good to me. You're eating an egg, so why alter the taste so much that you lose that flavor?

Fry egg with a little salt and pepper. Make toast and butter it. Put egg on toast, add a little salsa and put other toast on top.. yum!

Kaido, just add it afterwords on top. It depends on how you like to eat your overeasy eggs. I like to cut them down the middle to let the egg soak up the yolk. I put the sauce on top before I pierce the yolk so it mixes together with it nicely. dullard's story is no BS either, I've made that mistake before with hot sauce during my 'college cooking' experimentation 😀

thought I was gonna die from the pain 😛

the problem could be your cheap eggs, I bought some 'brand name' eggs awhile ago, because they were on sale, only like 20cents more than the store brand. I always thought an egg is an egg, but boy was I wrong. Those brand name eggs tasted so much better with just a little bit of salt. try it

1. Butter, sausage grease, or bacon grease only. No margarine, no sprays, etc. are acceptable. Olive oil is good if mixed with one of the others (I add olive oil if there's not enough grease).
2. Not too much salt or pepper!
3. Maybe change eggs.

Cooked in what's left from bacon or sausage, they should be fine on their own.

my usual... cut fresh mushrooms, onions, garlic, celantro (at least these 4).. then if I have, i'll also add hot peppers, green/red/yellow peppers, spinach, anything herbalicious.

hot sauce/salt for seasoning, oh and always cheese. you can't forget the cheese.

yummmmy =)

Making some progress. Today I had eggs seasoned with salt, pepper, and pinch of Season-All, fried in butter and bacon fat. Not bad, not great. Still not as flavorful as getting them at a restaurant. Also, believe it or not, my local grocery store doesn't have ANY hot sauce. I guess I'll be froogling for that 😛 I am also going to try Kosher salt plus a pepper mill instead of the canned stuff this week.

Are you over cooking them or something? IMO you shouldn't need hotsauce of any type to make eggs tasty. I don't even use bacon grease, just butter and pepper to make mine taste good. I would be concerned with how long you are cooking them and at what temperature.

I've tried overcooking them, undercooking them, and cooking them regular. They seem to taste the best when they're just a tad bit undercooked. I am buying store-brand eggs, so maybe I'll try name-brand next 😛

My fried and easy-over eggs taste boring. If I season them with salt and pepper during cooking, they taste like nothing. If I season them afterwards, there's a bit more flavor, but not much. I've tried butter and pam spray. I can cook them perfectly, they just taste boring. Any suggestions for livening them up a bit?

I like cheese with mine

I tried Dave's Insanity sauce a couple of years ago on a dare. Back then I couldn't stand hot stuff like I can now, but I would still never do it again. I had a single drop of it and was in tears for 45 min. After that, I now understand what Hell is like.

Franks/Durkee Hot Sauce on eggs for me.
I'm not a big egg eater, but I like mine fried over easy in sausage grease, then doused in the aforementioned Hot Sauce, with salt & pepper.
Sausage patties, Hash Browns, & toast complete the meal.

If you are looking for just good egg flavor, use a free range egg or organic. I have quite a few farm markets around me and thier eggs always taste better.

Garlic huh. I've tried garlic salt and it's helped. So use olive oil or what?
