Eustachian tube is probably plugged. Take some sudafed before you get an inner ear infection. Go see a doctor if you get pain or if it continues for too much longer.

hm I thought what I'm experiencing is the result of an ear infection..
I can't see a doctor because my mom has super high deductable insurance....so she doesn't really let me go to the doc ever

anyway, what does sudafed do?

Sudafed is a decongestant. Speaking rather simplistically, it will help open up the tube that connects your inner ear to your airway. Is it more difficult than usual to make your ears "pop"? Do they "pop" more often than usual? Tube is probably blocked. Google "eustachian tube" for more information than you ever needed pertaining to the workings of your inner ear. :)

Your ear may be clogged...but again that's something the doc will have to check. It happens to me every once in a while and I just get them cleaned. It's kind of strange after though because you hear all the stuff you've been missing...especially high frequencies.

GO TO THE DOCTOR...especially if you're Canadian cuz it's cheap.

Pour alittle amount of Hydrogen Peroxide in your ear while lying on your side and let in sit in your ear for about a half of a hour then clean out your ear with a baby bulb or syringe full of warm water.

It's could well be outer ear, not inner as many people are suggesting. H2O2 will do it as Raincity said. My g/f had this a couple months ago and couldn't hear at all but the doctor cleaned it out for her. She had the same problem w/ feeling dizzy and off balance.

Good advice, I do the same thing if my ear gets plugged. Works great! You'll feel it fizzing, breaking up the build up in your ear.. A well known naturalist doctor recommended this method to me several years ago.

i had a winter in high school when my ear did this and it drove me up the wall. it was so annoying i felt like i couldn't breathe sometimes. everynow and then it will come back for a short period, but i haven't found anything that makes it go away.

That usually does it for me, too. I dab a cotton swab in it and use it to clean my ear as I normally would; however, my ear doesn't clog up to a huge degree so my method may not work for you or even be a good idea.

Definitely sounds like middle ear infection. I had that over 3 times :(
They're either going to stick a syringe through your eardrum, and it's going to hurt like a bitch. Or you can do it the painless way, by getting a tube in your eardrum. I got a tube in my eardrum over 3 years ago, and it's still there.

Failing that, a little olive oil really works wonders in softening earwax. My ears get stuffed up easily, especially if I get water in them (can't really go swimming anymore, sigh); I've been clogged for a week or so before, and I feel your pain- it really is unbelievably annoying, isn't it?

Last restore; go get them syringed at the doctor's; the difference is astounding. Doesn't hurt (YMMV), just a weird watery tickling sensation, and then you get to see all the crud that they've washed out your ears.

Plus, for a few days, you get Super Hearing (TM) :D
