My E4500 OC

OK. I just got my new parts

E4500 M0
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
2GB Crucial Ballistix
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 pro

I figured I should be able to get to 3GHz easy, so the first thing I did was set it to 300X10 and the computer just turns off and on by itself like 3 times till it finally resets itself. I tried reading the Overclocking guide but I can't seem to get things working right. Can you all help me get to 3Ghz?

Edit: It seems like my OC is stable at 3GHz. I just did an hour of Prime95. Im running at 273x11. I have my voltage at 1.43 but CPU-ID and Coretemp are reading 1.395 and 1.325 respectively. Which one should I trust? Idle temp is 33c and load temp is 50. Are these temps fine?

Lower your RAM speed to 2x. BTW, how do you know your E4500 will do 3 Ghz on stock voltage? Why not just try 400x10, first thing?

You can't assume while overclocking. Also, did you turn off the "smart fan control" setting? I heard it causes problems with cold boots. Also, what speeds are your memory, PCI-E bus, and PCI bus running at?

I was able to dial in 266 FSB and off I went. 266 x 11 = 2933, just shy of 3GHz. Tried 300x10 at stock voltage and it was a no go. Personally, I don't really care, since 2.9 is close enough to 3 for me, and I can run that speed undervolted.

Take baby steps. Try creeping up to 3GHz, and make sure your RAM is set to 2.0 multiplier and nice loose timings. Also, make sure your RAM voltage is sufficient, since I think that Ballistix is supposed to run somewhere around 2.1V.

Also, from what I've read, you may find that 10x300 doesn't work, but something like 10x310 or 10x315 does.

Ok. I raised my voltage to 1.425. @ 273x11 and ran prime95 for 30 minutes no problem. I had my ram at x2 and I just raised it to x3. How do I change the memory timings on thos motherboard?

Idle temps are 33C and load temps under prime95 are 50C. (I have my case fans set at low with the cover on and I am not the best wirerer so that might be high.

In the main BIOS screen, press Ctrl+F1, then go into the tweaking menu.

Sounds like you just need to maintain Vcore in a good spot for the speed. I'm currently testing my E4500 with 1.36v at 290x11. It's running stable so far.
