Updates on my battle against PC noise:

Last week I upgraded to Duron 800 w/Gigabyte 7ZX. Unfortunately, the store was out of stock with the Microstar K7T Pro2 but I am very satisfied with the Gigabyte. It look cool too (with a bluish-green PCB).

Any ways, today I received my QuietPC 300W PSU and radial socket-A HSF+fan. I couldn't believe my ears when I tested them. They booted up my computer in SILENCE. Seriously. I am not exactly sure about the efficiency of these products in the long run, but so far, I am extremely satisfied.

I am going to order SilentDrive as soon as they get them in stock. Once I get those installed, my computer will be operating in virtual silence.

Any ways, it is very lovely to run Duron in silence. :) I thought that I'd share my happy moments with the rest of you, especially those of you who get awfully irritated from computer noise.

I don't find my rig load at all. I've got the antec sx830 case with 2 case fans and an alpha cooler. I was acutally supersied it would be that quiet.

I guess you really don't like the sound, huh.

You're from Glendale? I'm sitting in G-dale right now typing on my parents' computer (Finally made it home for X-mas). Did you grow up in Glendale?

I paid $230 (Canadian) for 300W PSU + radial socket-A fan + S&H (UPS Express)

That's about US$150.
