My dsl modem light won't stop blinking?

1) I don't think you need to know about the particular modem and all that but, there are 3 lights,1 for power,1 for DSL, ethernet. Well the ethernet is the one that blinks when something is in progress, however when i am not doing anything noting is active it keeps blinking it won't stop even if i disconnect...don't know what can be doing this other than hacker activity?(recently ive had trouble with an Agobot virus)

2)something else when i refresh the desktop you know right click...before it was a quick flash now it lags for a couple of secs it gets annoying know what could be the problem?

My Cable modem has a light flashing when all the computers on my network are off, My router keeps flashing as well, dont think it anything to worry about.

i don't have a network connected to mine, like you have, but before this didn't happen the ethernet light never stops blinking as if my connection is using the internet or something even when i disconnect?
