My DSL ends tommorow

Well, my family is going to move to Socal soon from up here in Michgan. We're moving around the end of March and our DSL contract for 40 dollars/ month just ended. This probably means i'll either be out of the web or chillin with 22.6Kbs for around 3 months.

Really stinks, because I've grown so used to just having the internet at my fingertips. Guess I will just have to go on with life lol. You guys think I'll make it? 😉
 
that's why when i moved, i transferred my cable over on the day of the main move so my internet connection would be uninterrupted.
 
Any cyber cafes or area hotspots near?

Any neighbors that will allow you be a freeloader and use their wireless?

lol almost everyone on my block has a unsecured wireless connection
 
did you just say you paid $40 a month for dsl under a contract? that's how much people normally pay outside of a contract.
 
I second the cable idea if available.. usually no contract.. they won't mind you only being their for 3 months.
 
Well so far I'm ok, at the library right now. I dread going home because that means I'll have to set up the good old dial up modem. 😵
 
Hey just buy one of my brand new external V92/56K callwaiting hardware modems for one third of new cost in FS forum!

Why would you use 22k hardware? Tell ya what, going back is HARD! But with the 12 step program, strong support group, etc, you should be able to go through withdrawal...

Lol, you make it sound so easy.

I have like 3 56K modems, but the provider that we can get for free is limited to 22K. 🙁
full 56K isn't THAT bad though.
