I bought a new home last year from a very well known builder in our area. Since December I have had problems with my concrete driveway. It is flaking away very badly in some spots. I contacted the builder and they said that it wasn't their problem. They seem to think that since I did not seal it they are not at fault and it is salt eating away at my driveway. I told them that I do not salt my driveway and they said that it was from salt on the roadways on my tires going up the driveway to park my car in the garage. Funny, as the worst spot on the driveway is about a foot over from where my wheels go on the driveway to park in the garage.
They are coming out on Monday to look at the situation. They said that I am at fault likely and they would not consider replacing a block unless 40% or more of the block is flaking off.
Has anyone had this kind of problem with concrete less than one year old?!?!
