It's 5:51 AM. 9 o'clock class...WHAT DO YOU DO?!?!
when a normal alarm wont even get close to working, i just use my z-560s cranked up to the maximum volume without clipping, and have ATB's Let you Go and Paul Oakenfold's Southern Sun start playing at 8:30 :)

i actually turned off my speakers once (i woke up three hours past my alarm time, and my speakers were off and i have no memory of turning them off...strange stuff) so i stuffed the control box behind my PC

hehehe this is gonna be crazy....

UPDATE
---------
well i made it to my class in time (special thanks to ATB) and scared the sh|t outta my roommate too! :)

Haha, that's pretty good! I've thought about doing something similar w/my alarm clock.

I've seriously thought about wiring an air-horn (the 18.wheeler kind) to a relay, hooked up to the speaker on the alarm clock. Would be simple enough to get the relay to trip, closing the 12v circuit to power the air horn.

I haven't done it b/c I'm kind of afraid the shock will cause my heart to cease it's function. :Q You'd be Hella Awake, though! :D

I can't think of anything more than hearing myself tell myself to wake up, over and over again. Stick with some good tunes, man. Is there a really good alarm clock program for the PC? One that can play mp3s over and over like that? This would be a good solution for me - I already have two alarm clocks and I still sleep through them late every day...

Ya, its called the college alarm clock, its a great program. It allows you to set a different wake up time for every day of the week, you can open any .exe file with it or open a winamp playlist. I use this, and 3 alarm clocks to wake me up in the morning. lol

You can find it here

As an added bonus you get to sleep in a few days a week if you are depending on Windows98/ME to run overnight.

Whatever happened to good old willpower? Take important classes in the morning, classes you can't afford to miss, and I guarantee you'll get up in time. My 8am organic lab was horrible, but if I missed one I'd fail the course, so you bet your ass I was up early every week for it

I thought about using the computer as my alarm.....but my audio setup for my computer is through a receiver, which I don't want to leave on all night.

So my little cell phone (Nokia 8260) is my second alarm clock.......and it's amazingly annoying for such a little ah heck.

Man, it doesn't take much more than a mouse fart to wake me up. Handy for actually getting up on time, but annoying on windy nights when pine cones and dead limbs drop on the roof every 30 min and wake me up.

Can you set this program to start up with your computer? Last night the power went out and so my alarm clock didn't wake me up, and I was hella late for work.

Since the comp turned back on with the power, if this program was loaded at startup it would still wake me up. Unlike my sh*tty alarm clock which has failed me for the last time.

no, but you could always put a playlist in the start up (so that if the power does go out, it'll wake your ass up when it turns back on ;))

i've slept through almost every alarm clock known to man, earthquakes, fire alarms, commercial fire alarms with strobe lights, people pounding on the door, etc....not all at once though ;)
in my first ~5 hours of sleep, there is no way you are going to wake me up without getting a mouthful from me :|

parents once woke me up for dinner...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! :|

I use my Timex Internet Messenger watch to wake me up. I just KNOW the battery is going to die on a day that I have an early test. I want to find the idiot that designed it to disable the alarm (but not the pager) when the battery is "low".
