The dorm internet access in my res. hall really sucks. My suitemate and I were thinking that maybe we could use the wireless network setup for laptop users in the library. The building is less than 100 feet away from our suite but there's thick brick walls. Is there a way we could use the network? What equipment will we need to get? Thanks.

It might work at that distance, but I doubt it becaue of the walls and being outside. If you intalled a bigger antenna on the access point in the library I just may work for you.

Your best bet would be to grab someone that has a laptop with a wireless NIC, make sure it works in the library, and then drag them up to your dorm room and see if it works up there. :)

Yeah. One of my suitemates has a friend with a laptop and a wireless NIC. He says that the wireless network is a lot faster than the dorm connections. I guess we'll drag him over some day and have him test it out for us. :)
