I eat a lot of fast food, and I tend to stick with one place until I'm burnt out for awhile. I've eaten everything .99 at every place in my area, but it's always spread out, with 2-3 trips in a row to the same place. This is by far the most complete round up I've done, I hope it's fatty approved.

Jack In The Box
--------------------------
.99 Chicken Sandwich
- this is the first .99 chicken sandwich I remember ever eating, it's been .99 since I was a teenager. It's decent sized but too plain. Aside from spicy or not, these sandwiches don't very much from place to place.
.99 Junior Bacon Cheeseburger
- too small, and the bacon is wimpy, I suppose for a buck expecting much more would be wishful thinking. They loose a point for copying Wendy's name here. The meat is ok, but the patty is too small to really enjoy it much.
.99 Side salad
- Not up to par with Wendy's but it's pretty good
.99 2 tacos
- strangely addictive, I've heard they contain Soy meat. I don't eat them often but when I do they're always awesome. They're greasy as hell and have a slight kick to them.
.99 Hamburger
- a point loss for the lame name, it's not very big and not very good - but to be fair I've only had it once. But even if I had a 2nd, it would still be too small.
Jack looses a point for having no 99 cent fry offering, sucks!

Buger King
--------------------
.99 spicy chicken sandwich
- I like it, but as with all their other sammiches it had shredded lettuce, which isn't my favorite. I like leaf lettuce. Not exactly what I would call spicy, but it has a small amount of heat. I like the taste.
.99 2 tacos
- Most people don't know but B.K. has tacos, I like them. They're not anything like a Taco Bell type taco. They have some decent flavor and a squirt of hot sauce. Good value.
.99 4 piece nuggets
- they're shaped like crowns and are have no taste. They have a larger order that's not even twice as big but costs twice as much. These are not good, even worse than McDonalds Nuggets, and the crown shape troubles me, it just doesn't look right.
.99 6 piece Cheesy Tots
- DELICIOUS, I could eat these every day, a 6 piece isn't enough really but for a buck it's a good deal.
.99 burger?
- Nope. BK (at least out here) has no dollar burger offering, t3h s0xs!
BUT!!! they have a .99 breakfast menu, not to go into great detail they have French Toast Sticks (pretty decent) & a Sausage Biscuit (tasty)

Wendy's
.99 Deluxe Double Stack
- They were up to $1.29 but are back at a buck. My favorite dollar burger hands down. delicious and good sized.
.99 Jr Bacon Cheeseburger
- Not bad as I like bacon but it's small.
.99 Crispy Chicken Nuggets
- I think the "Crispy" claim is a bit of a stretch, but they taste pretty good, and are definitely more crispy than the competitions offering.
.99 Crispy Chicken Sandwich
- I've only had this twice, but it wasn't what I'd call crispy at all. Not bad tasting but sort of plain.
.99 French Fries
- Better than Mcdonalds, not as good as B.K. some days they're really good, some times they taste stale.

Carl's Jr
.99 Spicy Chicken Sandwich
- TEH WINS! Delicious and actually a little spicy, I rate this the best chicken sandwich for a buck in America
.99 Big Hamburger
- It's not big, well except for a big disappointment. Has almost no flavor, not good, oh and it has no cheese (extra) would not eat again. And I love fast food :)
.99 side salad
- best salad for a buck, Wendys was better but mine doesn't have it anymore
their .99 cent menu sucks, you can order it all at once and it barely makes a meal.

Taco Bell
.89 Cheesy Double Beef Burrito
- Way better than their tacos, it could use more "cheesy" but it's got a good taste. They were . One of the bigger items you can get for this price. It's got double the beef of their original taco, which is good because their original tacos are horribly small. My location charges .99 but TB.com says .89 - lovely...
.99 Bean Burrito
- I don't like beans - enough said lol
.99 Taco Grande (or whatever the hell they call them)
- I don't like sour cream, the taco is ok, not really special. I like Jacks & B.K's better.
.99 Big Tasty Taco
- a taco with strips of torilla chips in it, some sort of weird Jalapeno sauce on it. Not my favorite sauce but it beats the hell out of Sour Cream.
.79 - Cheese Roll-Up
- It's like a burrito with only cheese, make that a burrito that had sex with a Quesdilla. NO meat sucks but the 3 cheese blend is nice, and the price is awesome. - NOTE I don't think this is on every T.B's menu, they seem to vary from location to location
.99 soft taco
- it's a taco, it's soft, it's a soft taco. Last 2 I ordered had about 10 shreds of cheese between the 2 :(

Rallys
.99 spicy chicken sandwich
- very good, not very spicy though
.99 Hamburger
- not good, no cheese and gay ass shredded lettuce
they have 8 other buck items, but their menu doesn't have shit on it. I asked but they didn't speak English so I said fuck it and left.

Arbys
.99 ArBQ
- they brought it back, and for a buck! they're always had the ARBQ sauce but for some reason were unable to offer this sandwich for years and years now. They don't put much sauce on it, but it's tasty. Pretty good sized for the price
I believe that to be Arby's only dollar item

Mcdonalds
.99 Double Cheese Burger
- Gross, but I still eat them sometimes, every time I do even the bun is greasy. It's a bad sign when the outside of a bun makes your fingers greasy.
.99 small fry
- McDonald has close to, if not the worst fries in the world. Unless they are super fresh I won't eat them, and even then only when I'm super hungry and have no other options.

wienerschnitzel
.99 Chili Cheese Fry Burrito
- DELICIOUS, some locations make it bigger than others, and some charge $1.19. This item is full of win, not too much chili, but enough to add a nice flavor, and the fries + tortilla mean a lot of carbs and you will get full quick. I highly recommend this item
.99 chili dog
- the dog sucks, the chili makes it pretty good. No cheese *BASTARDS!*
.99 corn dog
- I don't really like corn dogs, but as far as they go, this is not a bad one.
.99 Jalapeno poppers
- I don't like Jalapeno so I can't really comment
.99 Mini Corn Dogs
- I can stomach corn dogs better when they're bite sized, I dunno why.
.99 regular fries
- they're ok, nothing special, typically salty and never fried enough, even if I ask for them Extra Crispy they're always limp.
I think they have a buck burger too (not sure on the price) it's horrible. The Chili burger is passable, but only because it has chili to cover up the taste of the beef. They have good hot dogs, but they don't have good burgers. And be careful when you go, if you don't order off the buck menu it seems every other Hot Dog they have is around 3 bucks.

Wendys gets the highest marks, the Deluxe Double Stack is outstanding in every way, if the fries are fresh it's always a huge win when I eat there. Taco Bell's Cheesy Double Beef Burrito & Wienerschnitzel Chili Cheese Fry Burrito tie for 2nd. Jack In The Box's Tacos aren't something I get often, but when I do I usually scarf down about 6-10 of them.

BK gets honorable mention for being the only place with a .99 breakfast menu. But they NEED to offer their Double Cheese Burger for a buck again.

haah this is long and nobody will read it, sorry I'm bored. Over the process of "research" I ate about 50 dollar menu items. Right now I'm munching on a Cheesy Double Beef Burrito.

ok back to trying to become fat...

I ate on average 2.5 dollar items a day for 3 weeks, that's not too much food. Sure it was mostly crap but it's still a relatively small amount.

Much more than I eat junk wise, but I've seen worse. Good enough list, but I like McD's fries. My place is generally fresh though.

Thanks for the review. I try my best to not eat at these places, but I do use them to reward myself. I end up eating fast food once or twice a week.

Around here there's a Chinese food place that serves a mountain of food (about the size of a large running shoe) for $4.00. It is the best value menu around.

Very nice write up.

I'm going to have to try out BK and Winerschnitzel; Never gave them much attention before.

I've almost exclusively gone to jack in the box (2 tacos) and wendy's (burgers) for their value menus. If you can catch the jack in the box tacos fresh with new oil, they're amazing.

May I ask what you weigh?

I've eaten fast food at least 3 times a week for the past 3 years in college and actually lost 5 pounds in the end
For the record, I'm 5'7" and weigh 130

There's a guy who used to work with me during college (he was much older, in his mid-late 60's I'd say) and he used to eat McD's every single morning for breakfast. Of course, he also hit the treadmill everyday before work, but he barely had an ounce of fat on him. So I'm not necessarily saying it'll make you fat, but man, it can't be good for you. :)

Most BK's here in NY has whopper jr for a $1. Your's doesnt?

And if you save the receipt of the BK, then it's $2 for small drink, fry, and chicken club or whopper.

The Jumbo Jack for $1.29 is a pretty good deal for taste-to-cost-ratio, but of course it's more than $1...

nice review. There can be a lot of difference by Location though, but that's certainly a good way to narrow down things.

Very nice. I agree with CJ's spicy chicken being the best, but only when it's somewhat fresh. Nothing worse than a soggy or dry chicken patty.

the 99c McD's Double Cheeseburger hasn't been 99c for about a year now here. :( You only get the regular cheeseburger at 99c... which is a crime since it used to be like 69c and as a college student we got them for 33c.

Also Wendy's vs. McDonald's 99c Chicken Sandwiches... I had these two practically every meal when my wife was preggo in the hospital for days. They both have their qualities but Wendy's is chunkier meat and less mayo slopped on. Needed McD's version for a change though. Not too bad.

.99 Deluxe Double Stack
- They were up to $1.29 but are back at a buck. My favorite dollar burger hands down. delicious and good sized.
agree on this, except ours isn't deluxe. ???

Those are good for variety once in a while... but you can't beat 3 burgers and fries for $4 either. Both yum.

Right now it's 9am and I feel like some Taco Bell or McD's burgers already.
