We have a dachshund that got loose about 3 years ago. Looked all around the neighborhood for her and even went as far as printing signs to hang on gas stations. After hanging the signs, dad came home to find her at the back door waiting on him. We found out a couple weeks later that she had walked all over the neighborhood. I hope he finds his way back home just as ours did.
 
Is your dog microchipped? Was he wearing a collar with tags? Have you called ALL the local vets? Have you called animal control? Have you gone door to door asking all your neighbors? Have you contacted local/state/national dachshund rescue? (Rescue usually has A LOT of resources at their fingertips not the least of which is an excellent ability to spread information.) If you have not done these things I'd HIGHLY suggest you do them asap.

And good luck! I know I'd go crazy if one of my puppies went missing!
 
Well guys in a bizarre twist of fate, my so called gf who I knew had some dark side of her ended up dognapping him. I know I know this sounds crazy and a bit funny, but she came up with this entire story about how she found him near her house at a neighbors house, there is more to the story but I am exhausted from telling everyone it. I got him back last night and thanked her for finding him, because I didnt want to start trouble in her cuban neighborhood(I am white) but yea she has some serious issues and I do feel bad for her, especially how she was by my side this entire time. Oh and by the way she lives on the other side of Tampa from me if your wondering if she lived close.
 
Glad you got your dog back! If she is that bonkers then you really ought to consider microchipping your dogs. In case they get "lost" or she tries to say they are hers, it is undeniable proof of ownership.

Your girlfriend kidnapped your dog? Glad you got it back but... dam. How does she steal your dog? She have keys to your place?
 
She stayed over the other night and in the morning way before I woke up for work she took him, so when I woke up and realized he was gone, I tought he had just gotten out.
