If you want to run a version of TweakUI with Windows XP you should probably use the one that was included with PowerToys for Windows XP. The most recent version of TweakUI included in the PowerToys was version 2.0. I don't think you should try to use the version 1.33 that's widely available as a separate download. Unfortunately, Microsoft has taken PowerToys down from it's download space on their site (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp). It's supposed to be released (new, improved?) some time in April. I'm sure you can locate the version 2.0 PowerToys somewhere, however. If you can't find a trustworthy download site that carries it, I can e-mail it to you.
Certainly there is. All you have to do is the research required to find the appropriate registry entry or entries to edit. It's probably listed in one of the many books about the Windows registry. Or you could use something like RegMon to watch the registry while you use a tweaker to invoke the change. But I'm lazy. By the time I've got the tweaker to invoke the change, I just use the tweaker. Assuming that the tweaker is reliable it's less likely to bork the registry than I and my fat fingers are!
