i had a 5.5' long desk. then i added a 20" extension that i built in woodshop to hold my printer. now the resulting desk is 7 foot 4 inches. count: 66+20=86/12= 7.1666667.

kickass, eh?

I got pictures too!

Kinda Leet almost :)

sucks that the monitor is off to one side. maybe next christmas i'll ask for an LCD monitor. i got the box in the extension this last christmas :D. and yes it is the box in my sig.

oh, and those speakers came with a subwoofer. it's sitting there under the desk, on the little footrest.

the 17" trinitron? kickass monitor, but i just wish it were thinner.

the desk cost about 400 dollars at some office supply place. it's red oak, some solid wood, and the flat panels are plywood. so it's nice.

shoot, io forget what the office supply place is.

the extension cost me about 120 bucks, but it's mostly solid maple, with 3 plywood panels. the top, i argued for about 30 minutes with my cabinetmaking teacher, but finally forced him to let me make a solid wood top. so it's great. :D

Your puny desk is just barely longer than fish tank... doesn't that make you feel less of a man? :p

I have a massive "wrap around" corner desks that is 7.5" long on each side. It takes up half the room! :Q

I'd post a pic but I haven't picked up a digicam yet.

really? so, your room is .87 square feet? that's really amazing. how do you fit a monitor in there? i mean, im assuming you're a midgit here, so you can fit in there, and you can put the cpu in another room.... what, is a pda screen your monitor?

I don't get how people can use off center monitors.

It would really bug me keeping my neck turned.

how can you stand having your monitor off to the side like that...when you sit down, your body is facing one way and you have to turn your head slightly to the left...doesn't that hurt after awhile?

I know for me I have to have my monitor straight in front of me. I hate sitting down, and then tilting my neck a bit...doesn't feel comfortable.

well, i do have a chair that rotates, so i can sit slightly off to one side and look at the screen somewhat more straitly. the only real problem arises when im playing a FPS. then i have to stare strait at the screen, as well as have a lot of freedom to move the mouse. i have a lot more now that i got a MX 700, but it's still not what i fully want. i want that LCD screen :)

oh, and elfenix, i provided pics as proof. so you cant belittle me. now if your desk is truly 6 feet deep, prove it :p
