I dont like the cd-rw drive since I believe most of the dvd 16x recorder Dl are running 48x cd-r speeds...I would rather have antoher DVD-rom drive for perfect backups on the fluy....

I hate all the Dell bloatware, but nice system....I oc so not for me!!!

How much did you pay for it after tax/shipping? My alienware is was $1800. I got a better video card and no bloat, but you got a soundcard and I got integrated.

Nice Pickup

I got a similar setup but 8400, 160igig (7200.7 🙁), 17"LCD TV, no audigy 2, for $1212 after tax and shipping.

Let me know if you have any sucess unlocking the 6800gto, so far mine is being a real boitch.

sound like a good deal, esp with Microsoft Office 2003 Pro included. Enjoy!

PS: how long warranty did you get?

Just a warning: that 3.6 will probably end up throttling a bit because it's such a hot chip and Dell lets 'em toast anyway. (Depending on how hot it gets, it will automatically downclock to save itself, and so you're not going to get full performance.)
Your Raptor will probably not do much more for gaming than a normal 7200 RPM drive.
The Audigy 2 (D) Dell sells you, IIRC, is stripped down a bit, though I don't know exactly what's taken out.
There's also other bloat/software that's unnecessary, but MS Office is nice to throw in there.

6/10

If it throttled, I would return it.

Tom's had an article on the same 3.6 P4 I believe, and he was unable to get it to throttle while installed in a case. It was the article where he crowed about the chip throttling with cheap thermal compound, but if you read the article you'll see that the chip never throttled with the stock cooler and TIM pad.
