My Dell Experience today.... FU DELL SUPPORT :P

Lifer
I called Dell because there was a problem with an order I placed.

I ordered:
160gb HD Seagate for 93.xx with 10% off
Lexar Trios Mem stick adapter for 17.99 with 20% off.
Shipping and Handling 2.75
Tax etc...
Total came out to like $2.75+ NJ tax for the items since I applied one of my 100 off coupons.

I get a confirmation that shows that none of the discounts have been applied except for the free shipping.

I call Dell this morning to straighten it out.

Call #1 Indian. Didn't give me some made up american name... gave me their indian name.
She asks me all sorts of question regarding my order number, address etc..
I give her the information.
I go ahead and let her know that the discounts haven't been applied including my $100 off
She tells me it's been applied and my total is $121.xx.
I go ahead and tell her than can't be. She "insists" that it's correct.
I ask her if she has the same order on her screen. She says yes.
I ask her how the discount was applied. She goes silent for a min, then she just says it's applied and the total showing 121.xx is correct.
We went back and forth for a like 4-5 min before I went off on her and told her to get her supervisor. She connects me to her supervisor (Indian) and she argues with me about the same thing. at that moment I went off on her as well. Shethreatened me to disconnect the call if I continued ranting that she was wrong.

Call #2 Got connected to some place in Panama. Nice gentleman. Knew what the problem was. asked bunch of questions... he tells me he sees what the problem is and he'll go ahead an get that corrected. I was put on hold... then disconnected.

Call #3 Got connected to another person in Panama (nice chick with a spanish accent). They seem to understand that the discount isn't applied.. but when I get put on hold, it keeps on disconnecting me.

Call #4 Got connected to someone in India. I didn't even bother and hung up immediately.

Call #5 Got connected back to Panama (another chick named Diamond), explained my situation got put on hold then.. disconnected again while they were trying to resolve it.

Call #6, 7, 8 all went the same way.

Finally, I got fed up and called to cancel my order.
They put me on hold when I request the order be cancelled as I'm now fed up. *Click* Disconnected.

I went online to the E-Chat for dell support.
Some indian gentleman was on the other side as the name suggests.
Explain the situation.
Initially tells me the discounts have been applied and the total is correct.
I tell him how does a hard drive that's 9x.xx + 18 dollar usb adapter come out to 121.xx with the $100 discount applied.
He goes on to tell me that my card is only charged 2.75 ? ( probably pulled it out of his ass ).
I check my banking and nothing has been charged and I tell him how come my order status does not reflect it.
He talks to the supervisor and they tell me that, let the item ship. once received call or e-chat back and they'll credit me the $100 + 20% off the trios and 10% off the HD.

This process took total like 1.5 hours.
Went off on two Indians that insists I'm wrong when I'm right.
Get threatened to disconnect me if I kept on going on.
Got disconnected from various CSR's.
Finally resolved after numerous back and forth with the E-chat.

My experience with Dell has been very negative.
More so that i'll try to avoid them from now on in the future.

I'm willing ot boycott ANY company who outsources ENGLISH customer support to a non-english speaking country. Canada, fine. U.K., fine. India, NOT FINE. I"M NOT YOUR "DEAR FRIEND" @SSHOLE SO STOP CALLING ME THAT.

HP sucks too >: (

I'd rather spend a little more on components and get them from new egg or some other small/medium sized reseller here in the states. Unless dell has some freaky deaky sale that I want to take advantage of *pets cheap 600m*. 10% off isn't worth it, imho.

they are bringing a lot of their jobs back here to the ole USA, Oklahoma City to be exact....announced on July 5, lemme see if i can find the article

Thank god, maybe they might actually get my money if that's true. I've been eyeing the Inspiron XPS Gen 2 for a while now, but I am not putting up with their BS tech support.

although isekii you did just get a totally sweet deal. i would run through hoops to get the deal you just got for sure.

Dell support owns. They just keep fixing my laptop so quickly. My laptop sucks though.

HP support was awesome. I've had positive experience from all support. They just keep next-day-airing a box to me for me to ship crap back. =)

I only ordered it cuz I had the coupon to spend.
Which I was holding for a bit of time. Waited to see if the Graphics cards would go on sale enough for me to get one, but I can buy it cheaper from other E-tailers even using the coupon.
