A customer that insists on running his own mail server instead of the one we provide for FREE (because he can figure it out) decides he wants to send email with a different domain name

I suggested adding a cname to his DNS record.

I just checked his DNS record a minute ago,and it reads:

ACTIVE CNAME: CASPIAN

I was like wtf? And called him. He thought I said SEA NAME, and it was some kind of password reminder clue

How's your day?

Heh ...well I took mom to breakfast, went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things (vacuum cleaner belt, mink oil and ant traps).

While we were there I helped a guy pick out a digicam for his daughter.

Now I just set up a webcam to see if ant traps actually work.

Yeah, I'm off work today and could use the levity.

This post smacks of redneck, doesn't it?

Some stupid guy in the middle lane turning left decided to randomly change his mind and turn right and grinded the front side of my car (in right turning lane) destroying the head light. Kept driving, big pickup truck.

I've had an very unproductive week, today I did more work than I have all week. and I ran a virus scan on a pc and installed office 2004 on a mac. Oh and logged into a server to make sure a program was still working correctly. I also got paid for 2 hours of doing homework :) I love my job.

Could be better. I accidentally volunteered my services at the unit's orderly room. Didn't realize that it was their leave audit. So I had to go through pretty much everyone's pers file and see if they had leave passes to match the leave they supposedly took. If the system said they took all 20 annual days, but the leave passes say only 16 days were taken, then the member gets 4 days for free. It works the other way, too, which sucks.

The worst part of it was that they had not yet accounted for the March block leave, which must be included in the fiscal year end audit. So pretty much everything I marked down for discrepancies (about 800 pers files, several leave passes in each) would be shredded then re-done. So, in short, I wasted an entire day doing absolutely nothing.

I caught a user who I've never had a reason to dislike trying to send his friends mp3s through our FTP and corporate email system this morning.

Instead of just apologizing or whatever he tried to act like he didn't know it was wrong, which makes it go from an unofficial 'heads up' to an official warning via email. NOT what I want to deal with on a Friday.

No but it was a company truck, I just recall some of the slogan on it, something about repairs. I will need to research to see if I can find out the company.

This was in a really stupidly designed part of town where traffic is totally insane at lunch time, he was probably in too big of a hurry and driving like a maniac out of the Wendy's drive thru. That Baconator was not worth the trouble.

My dad works for the garage so hopefully I can get a good deal to get it fixed.

I had a client with a case of "diarrhea of the mouth" during a depo even after I instructed him for over an hour to keep his answers to Yes, No, I Don't Know, or at the worst one or two sentences... He even promised me his new medication would keep him from talking too much.
