My Dad's New BMW 545i!

i actually got a new aircraft too. well, its not mine, but the leader of my country bought it. its called "air force one," i'm sure it's got more than 325 hp, and probably a little more powerful than a V8.

Alot of people don't like Chris Bangle's new design, but I sorta like it. Of course I live in Roadster building country, so I see BMW's by the @ss loads every day.

And oh yeah, you're gonna get owned for saying it's yours.

My dad had a '99 540i, but the lease just ended, so he decided to "treat" himself with the 545i.
 
You need to upload a sound file of you revving the engine just like in the porsche cayenne commercial.

I don't think its as aggresive as the previous 540i sport 6-speed. But, you can and should get wider and more low profile tires with wheels like the 540i sport if you're a real man.. j/k

Heh, I may get around to that sound file, LOL. My dads not much of a "modifier" to cars, so I doubt we will really be doing anything to it.

What I really want to do is hack the iDrive to change skins, make it into a DVD player, etc. Now THAT would be cool.

I didn't know they were turning sub-6 sec 0-60s...interesting.

Treating yourself is not going 540i to 545i....treating would be the Alpina, M5 or Z8....he just got transportation. Might be a nice brag on ClubSi though, sort of wasted here.

Actually, while it will be next to impossible to change the skin, you could probably turn it into a dvd player pretty easily. I'm not sure about the 545i, but I know with our 745li you can get the tv video and possibly dvd modules from the european versions of the car. You might want to check out Nav-TV.

Come to my neighborhood and there is nothing special about a $60k esp coming from another $60k car.

If you work in a field were you are entertaining VIP's and clients an car like this is merely transportation....nothing to be impressed with, however, not that I wouldn't like such a car. A $60k sportscar is a little more impressive esp when you consider you have to have another vehicle most of the times....same thing with toys.

It's obviously a brag post, however, not so impressive to me at least.

Um...no, it was not a brag post. I was just sharing the fact that my dad bought a 545i, considering that in the previous discussion about the new 5 series, someone asked me to post pics when I got it. I don't understand what is wrong with sharing something...why would I brag to people I don't even know 😉?

When has most bragging ever been done with people one knows?

I also don't understand why people want to see pictures of a stock and new car. It's easier just to pick up a magazine in WalMart or the grocery store. I can see it for a limited vehicle or an older one....maybe people are just impressed easy....

It's a nice car....in three years maybe he can 'treat' you to a hand me down. 🙂
