He thinks the world is gonna end. Maybe it's right for him to be a little cautious, but he's pulling out most of his cash from the banks and asked me to do the same. I told him that I don't think the war will affect my bank savings. He's worried that they'll close down everything and I won't have access to my cash. I told him that I could use my debit/credit cards and if they did close down everything, wouldn't the cash be just as useless as non-working debit/credit cards? What are your thought?

Although, I did just run to the bank cuz my dad wanted me to pull money from my mom's account and strangely, it was 4:30pm and the bank was closed. Maybe he IS right? 😛
 
Bah... humor him. I did for 18 years, now I don't have to do what they want anymore.

Somehow I still wind up doing what they want anyway. They're pretty smart people, although they've had their moments of paranoia.
 
If the banks fail, you and your father are going to have much bigger problems than no money

I hope your dad isn't just pulling that money out and leaving it in cash (i.e. US dollars or similar currency) under the mattress.
If the banks did fail, as he believes, the US dollar would devalue significantly. He needs to buy gold.
 
Tell your dad to buy gold or another precious quantity, that way if the us economy slumps and cash is worthless, you will still have bricks of gold 🙂
 
The worry thatcomes with wars and armed conflict is many times warranted, although more so for those are about to be invaded.

You think that's paranoid???? My friend's mother won't even let him go to the gym because she thinks there might be an act of terrorism. Today In school, they read some things to do during a terrorist atttack, one was take all articles of clothing and seal all doors and windows and run to the windows and make arm gestures...

i live in eastern nc, hours from DC...but when the sniper was roaming about up there, some dumbass chick at work was telling everyone how it was important to keep moving when gassing up, and how she never stood still...

man i hate that moron

anyway, if the world ends, money or no money, gold or no gold, were all fvcked...after all, were talking the end of the world, not a depression
