ARGH! My dad is taking my car tomorrow so he can drive some client up north to some deposition for some stupid trial, he is putting 140 miles on my engine and only offering me a lousy 50 bucks. I'll have to spend 10x that amount in engine repairs later on. Now I have to drive to my class in a blue mini van, how embarrassing, this really bites. :|

Antiquated thread revived by member disappoint for absolutely no reason.

Riiight. You're taking money from your Dad so he can borrow your car? That's actually close to government rates for mileage reimbursement, by the way.

oh no, 140 whole miles!

If you live in his house, and he's paying you $0.35/mile to drive your car, I don't think you have the right to complain.

A whole 140 miles?!?! Noooo...

You probably put that on it in 1 weekend.
AND, his 140 miles are probably alot less stressful on the engine then your 140 miles.

Also, considering an average engine should easily last 130,000 miles with regular routine mainenence, just how bad is that 140 miles.

Sounds to me like someone is spoiled.

No, I paid for the gas that is in the tank. His boss is reimbursing him for the trip and I am trying to get him to give me that money too.

Not really, I offered him $150 so he could get a rental car or a cab, but he refused. THAT is how much I hate people using my car.

Aren't you the guy who keeps all his money stuffed in his mattress and thinks banks are evil? After reading this thread, it makes sense. You're the next unabomber.

why r u throwing such a big hissy fit? i don't know ur relation with ur dad, but is he not the same guy who brought u into this world and raised u? borrowing ur car isn't that big a deal. if my dad asked to borrow my car, i would have no problem with it, much less take the $50. and besides... he's not leaving u hanging without a ride. blue minivan or pink polka dot minivan... it gets from point a to point b.

Go get him the rental car and give him the keys to it.
