So Dad just put you $18k in debt.

Thanks Dad 😉.

Seriously I'd be pretty pissed off if my dad did that without asking. If he expected me to make the payments and insurance then I would want a say in what the car was especially if I had no job security.

Well, he'd probably help me out if I got axed, he'd just be extremely pissed off at me.

I LIKE my C class :| Accords are nice but I prefer my c class.

I have to say that it's very unusual for a parent to put their child in debt by $18k when the child seems to be against the idea. Or were you against it to him...? Maybe he's doing it to scare you into working harder, but working harder for a car is a particularly silly thing to do. This whole thing confuses me.

I actually know how you feel. I felt the same way when I had my Maxima. It was affordable for me, but I just had no personal need for such a nice car. Of course it wasn't about whether I felt that I "deserved" it, but it seemed like a waste of money, space, and gas. I don't know what I was thinking back then. I'm more of a humble Civic type of person myself.
I felt the same way when I got my maxima - like I didn't deserve something so now. Oh, but how I've grown into it and want something even nicer now 🙂 Such is human nature!
