I'm very scared of this problem. I've been reading about it over at DPREVIEW and it seems to strike at any time.

Anubis: Sorry to hear man =( Any idea how much it typically costs to service? Is the service warrantied?

Sh!t dude, you had better check yourself into the hospital. It's probably the beginnings of pneumonia or cancer or something. I have to say though, cancer is pretty funny.

Did someone call for a Canon fanboi? 😉

**Insert obligatory 'Should have bought a Canon' comment**

Edit-I'm sure Nikon will cover the defect. Obviously this is a common problem. I don't think Nikon would pull a GM move and deny fixing it under warranty just because you've had the camera for more than a year.
