My current pre orders

exdeath

Lifer
Tales of Xillia Collectors Edition
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD
The Last of Us Post Pandemic Edition
The Last of Us Survival Edition

Couple others I need but they are pretty far off or can't remember of the top of my head.

Anybody surprised?

Are you going to check out Metro: Last Light? I watched the preview, and they said "If you are tired of the same old shooter crap, this is a game for you". That sounds like it was made just for exdeath, our resident anti-shooter.

I like that Tales of Xillia statue, but I was really turned off of the game when I found out that it lacks a Japanese voice option. I recall trying to play Vesperia, and the English voices were grating, but not as bad as the Tekken-like battle system.

I'm surprised that anyone would pay $240 for one video game 😀

I'll be getting the "Basic Edition"
Yeah, especially considering that you will have two copies of the same game. I don't even see the point in spending over $60 on a game, especially for a statue or anything like that.

What about Call of Duty:Ghosts?

😛

I will celebrate the day Call of Duty IS nothing but a ghost.

I got my "realistic military theme shooter/warfighter simulation" fix YEARS ago when it was then NEW on the PC... kinda sick of still seeing it everywhere and displacing everything else.

Considering they are very limited and sold out on preorders in less than an hour and people are already paying double on ebay, I'm not worried...

Rather get it now than have to pay $500 for it later...

Same for my Ni no Kuni Wizard Edition 😀 US WE is still going for $300-400 5 months later.

So it's kind of like an investment. Not that I plan to sell anything for profit, but it's nice to know I'm not losing money. Appreciating assets.

Like I said I learned my lesson about not preordering special editions of non mainstream games at MSRP and then deciding I want it later on a whim...

Maybe I'll preorder The Last of Us but I usually don't preorder games as I always try to wait until reviews to buy one. Too many games look good only to turn out to be turds.

I've got a pretty good sense of what will be good or not based on my personal requirements of a game.

Ni no Kuni was pure bliss for me, despite it's numerous issues, and from what I've seen of The Last of Us, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it as well regardless of mainstream opinion.

But then you know me... I'll probably say it's one of the best games this generation after disappearing for two weeks 100%ing it while every mainstream outlet review could say it sucks (because theres not enough shooting!) and Ill be giving 0 fux.

Other than serious/tragic JRPGs, I'm a sucker for any suspense/survival horror/post apocalyptic genre to play with the lights out, especially now that Resident Evil is dead. I put in over 200 hours in Fallout 3 100%ing it on the hardest mode with all DLC.

I don't really pre order anymore since the stuff coming with them don't really seem worth it. I will be getting The Last of Us on release day for sure!!

I wouldn't be too worried. Tales of Graces english voices were actually not that bad.

I don't pre-order games unless there's a discount. Otherwise, steam codes will be up on ebay for $30 a week after release anyway.

can't remember the last time i've preordered a game. there really is just no reason to do it for me. usually the bonuses are some stupid extra skins or something. after purchasing quite a few "collectors/limited" edition games i've realized it's a huge waste of extra $$.

Books and soundtracks are enough for me. Especially the high quality hard bound books like the Ni no Kuni Wizard's Companion. Top notch piece.

Certain games you just know are going to be worth more once they are out of print if they have the preorder or special edition stuff. More so limited production niche games eg RPGs.

Just look up Radiant Historia with the soundtrack CD... and stuff like that.

Ni no Kuni steel book and Xenoblade art book are both worth about $30. Why, when I can get it free and preorder the game I was going to get anyway.

I would never preorder a game and the special edition stuff doesn't really interest me. To me I want the game to be fun, that's it. I don't collect them or anything like that.

I generally don't either. It's only for games that I know will be extremely niche limited run, and only have items of value that you can get as a preorder bonus. Generally these are art books and soundtracks for RPGs.

Been doing this enough to know what types of games are going to command high collector value down the road and have wished I'd been in on the pre-order.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a perfect example. Now look at it. Even if you just wanted to play it and didn't care about collecting it, it's still probably going to cost you $100+.

These are games I want and will play anyway, might as well get it for $100 instead of having to find it later for $300+ from a reseller when the pre-orders are sold out or it's out of print.

Sometimes I just like having nerdy stuff to adorn my computer room with. I've got a few things already! When I finally get around to buying a house, I'd like to beef up my "nerd room."

After all these years of 1st day purchases only to have it shelf for months, I've switched over to the greatest hits mind set. Call me when the game costs under $20.

With that said, I'm gonna preorder the Link to the Past 2 3DS XL bundle if that becomes reality.

Looking at my list of pre/open-orders on Amazon.. its almost all games that no one knows when/if they'll come out.

Gran Turismo 6
The Witch and the Hundred Knights
The Last of Us
The Last Guardian
Final Fantasy Versus XIII

You think like me. Definite weekend Redbox rental for The Last of Us. This will be a good July 4th weekend game.
