My Current Build
- Primary use will be Gaming.
- Plan on OverClocking the Q6600 to 3GHz Max.
- Budget at $1500 Max.
~ The Build ~
MB: ABIT IP35-E
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 + Thermalright Ultima-90 HeatSink
RAM: Patriot 4GB (2x2GB) PC2 6400
PSU: CORSAIR 520HX
OS: Vista Home Premium
Display: Soyo 24" DYLM24D6
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320GB
Sound: Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
GPU: eVGA 8800GT or GTS (G92)
Case: Cooler Master Centurion 5
Everything has been purchased except for the Graphics Card.
I will most likely go with a GT unless I can get a great deal on a GTS (G92).
This build started in early November & should be done by next week.
It's been a lot of fun, but I am really anxious to finish & finally play some games.
I initially intended to sell my GFX card (7900GTX) and upgrade to 8800GT on my s754 computer.
After selling my GTX in early November, I decided to just do a total build instead.
I didn't have a back-up PCI-e card, so I have been for the past month using a P3 500, 384MB RAM, GeForce 3,
running WindowsXP... It's been a very looong month as you can imagine.
I'm currently in the process of selling my old rig (sig) that will help pay for this build.
It's funny how just upgrading one part of a computer can snowball into a whole new computer.
