Crucial so underrates thier ram.. this is PC2100 labeled 3-3-3

Does 2-2-2 up to 150Mhz

and 2.5-3-3 up to 188.

Hav'nt tried much else but I'm pretty amazed.🙂

depends...back when i got my ram their pc2700 and pc2100 were up to snuff...but their pc3200 was just pc2700 with relaxed timings 😉

Really? Wow, I should try my Crucial PC3200 and see what happens. I had it in an A7N8X E Deluxe, but it wouldn't even do CAS 2.5, or 204MHz reliably. 🙁

That was a different chipset, so I should probably give it another try in this board. Thanks for the heads up.

I have two (512MB DDR400 CL3) they say BT1118B.RC

Oh, I see where you're looking... CT6464Z40B.8T2

I'll pop them in tomorrow and see what happens. 🙂

Yeah, I usually buy crucial ram for the work machines because I've dealt with a lot of generic ram giving me headaches. Crucial I buy when I "just want it to god damn work".

I've heard a lot of people say the pc2700 does pc3200 speeds easy and pc2100 does pc 2700 easy as well. I suspect like most things they just make one set and rate it differently to hit different markets.

Crucial PC2100 was some of their best stuff. It was rated very conservatively and often overclocked great. My Crucial PC2100 hit PC2700 easily at 2.5cas and also topped out at around 180Mhz. I know couple people who were able to hit 200Mhz with Crucial PC2100. Good stuff.
