Hi, I set my multiplier x8 in bios but my CPU-Z is reading x6. Can someone please explain, is this a glitch or is it really set at x6?

The C1e and EIST lower the multiplier to 6, so the CPU can run at a lower voltage. Why ? Because you don't need the full CPU power for sitting idle in the desktop, so it saves you some energy. As soon as you put the CPU to work, the multiplier will jump up to 8 again, and your CPU will work at full throttle ...

Wow... thank you very much guys. Is this C1e and EIST/Intel Speedstep in the bios figuration? How exactly do I disable it?

if you are using windows, just go to the power management thing in control panel and change it to no power management.

c1 halt is only working with "minimum power management" or higher profiles. why would you want to disable it?

Just FYI, if you leave those power saving features on, the CPU's multiplier will automatically be put back to 8 whenever the CPU is doing something which requires more horsepower.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother. Switchback to 8x is instantaneous whenever you do anything.

Higher temps, sucking more power for no gain in performance.

Go into BIOS and reenable C1E and EIST.
