He was stopped for crossing the street without his shirt on last year. He works in construction and it was a hot summer day.

They quickly found out that he was not a US citizen. They arrested him and sent him to Arizona to await a trial to deport him. He was there for over a year. His trial date finally came. His mother had to pay his bills and his brother had to go to Arizona to hire an attorney for the case. Lots of money wasted. The judge looked at the paperwork and said he's here legally. He has a green card, he's a permanent resident and his mother is a US Citizen. The Judge threw out the case and he was released.

All that for crossing the street. Sometimes our justice system sucks.

wow that sucks. but couldn't they produce the greencard + records when he first got picked up? That's a pretty silly law btw. Here in NY it's legal (or at least was a couple years ago... don't know if it changed) for either men or women to walk around topless as long as the don't do anything sexual with their breasts-

WTF??

Where did THIS happen? And since when it not wearing a shirt against the law?

Hell here in Oregon it's a law that WOMEN don't eve have to wear shirts!!

(Most do though, and the one's that DON'T, well you usually wish THEY did!)
