My Coolermaster ATCS build. How's my fan setup?

Figured I let you guys check out my atcs and possibly help decide if my fan config is right. It's a cm atcs 840 case, i7 930 @ 3.3ghz 1.12v, megahalems with one medium speed fan, hd 5850 gpu, creative sound card, lg blu ray hd DVD drive, tv tuner, intel dx58so mobo, antec 850w ps, 6gb corsair dominator. I dremeled a hole in the side of the case for an extra 120mm fan to feed the video card cool air. Let me know what you think.

Just finished my build in an ATCS 840 last week also. The case has good airflow using stock fans, but I added three additional 120mm fans (two behind the drive bays, and one on the bottom of the case). I also added a Scythe fan controller, which controls the three non-stock fans PLUS the forward top-mounted 230mm stock fan. I had read somewhere that disabling the forward 230mm fan actually improves cooling of the CPU (and it did in fact lower my core temps by apx 2 degrees celsius), so I typically keep it turned off using the Scythe controller. I think your mod to the side panel is also a good idea (maybe overkill, but what the heck), because without adding extra non-stock fans, the case is negative air pressure which makes it a dust magnet. There's a lot of info about the ATCS 840 at:

The extra rear-mount box that they suggest you use to suck air out of the PCI expansion slots is butt-ugly, and I don't use it either.

All in all, this is a very good case for thermals. It's freaking humongous, but it keeps everything nice and cool, has plenty of room for any hardware you want to throw at it, and is easy to work in. I have my i7 920 overclocked to 4 GHz with a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ with no problems.

You got any pics?

I agree about the rear mounted box. Ugly as hell but dropped gpu temps nicely when I did use it. Why would not having the front fan on drop CPU temps? I didn't bother with the fan mounted on bottom near power supply as it messed with the hard drive fans and didn't drop any of my temps.

The rationale for disabling the forward top mount 230mm fan (not the one behind the case's removable front panel) is that it is prematurely drawing out cold air before it has had a chance to draw heat off of the CPU heatsink.

I don't have any pics, but if you want to see lots of pics from other ATCS owners, go to the link in my previous post.
