My (conspiracy) theory on bulldozer benches so far...

My thought is that 90% are fake and the other 10% are not representative of actual performance. Trying to draw any conclusions on performance, in light of how many fakes are out there is impossible.

No - not really. From what I have been able to piece together from all of the commentary, is that Bulldozer should fit in nicely somewhere in the range between an Athlon II X4 and a 2600K killer. That much we do know. I think??

I'm personally going to relax about this issue - I can't keep up with all of the posts anyway. I'm sure Anand will announce anything worthwhile.

IMHO there are less fakes now that most of them show more or less similar results (especially those coming from reliable sources), compared to real fakes earlier which literally performance figures "all over the place". They may not be "representative of final performance", but IMHO the results are not that far off. :hmm: That reminds me of this......

Another question, are you going to stand by your words that "IPC increases"? :hmm:

Darn if only AMD packed LHe coolers in the box as well

LMAOLMAOLMAO..........

Sure... if u can figure out how to build a compressor capable of compressing He gas to liquid state and have that compressor be smaller then a truck trailer, well have it fit in a nice 24x12 x 12 box... and im sure AMD will change fabs to gas compression technology as your invention will be so far advance from anything we've seen in that field.

As an ex-AMD engineer quoted.......Theoretical performance versus actual performance may be a different story. :hmm:
You have a point, because the Sega Saturn had greater theoretical performance than the PS1. In practice, however, it generally turned out to not have as good of performance.

I've always predicted BD to be a failure, and I'm sure it will be. The Phenom II (especially the X6) had a really stupid design IMO because the PII runs hot and because 4 cores with 2.8GHz L3 cache is better than 6 cores with 2 GHz L3 cache).
