I'm building my first computer (specs are in my signature) and I can't get the freaking thing to boot-up! All I have plugged in is 128MB of DDR PC2100 Mushkin RAM, a 1.3GHZ 266MHz FSB AMD Processor, Geforce 256 DDR (first generation), generic floppy drive, and a Maxtor 30gig 7200rpm ATA-100 hard drive all into my Iwill KA266-R motherboard. Plus a 331 watt Enermax Power supply! Still nothing! :(

I've tried reseating the RAM, unplugging all the drives and reconnecting them but when I turn on the computer it doesn't boot-up. I think I hear the Hard drive spin a little but its light on the case doesn't come on and the motherboard makes some beeps. One long beep and then a continuous beep. The Iwill website doesn't say what this beep means and I would call Tech-Support but its Saturday and the jerks are closed!

If anyone has some idea of whats wrong or a suggestion or two of what I could tried I'd be deeply appreciative.

Could be a couple things, #1 could be the mobo is shorting out, I had this happen with the small "tang" that presses against the rear I/O by the usb port, another is that certain boards won't do anything unless you have a fan plugged into the correct cpu header on the mobo, hope this helps.

If you have the Award Bios
These are the beep codes
1 Long Beep indicates a problem with memory in the first bank, usually an unseated memory module
1 Long, 2 Short indicates a problem with the video card or the memory on it
1 Long, 3 short also indicates a problem with video or the memory on video card
Continuous this usually indicates a problem with the memory, but sometimes is a video problem

hope this was of some help

Outta curiosity just how easy is it to fry these things? We have 2 of the mobos and 2 of the cpu's and neither work, both have the fan and heatsinks mentioned attached to them and nothing works!
