My computer will not boot

So my mobo is a Foxconn nforce4 ultra it requires as you know 24 pin, but I'm using a 330 tru antec which is a 20 pin the manual told me where to plug it and nothing is happening besides my mouse (lighting up). PS: Does the ps turn on with just outlet plug in and nothing else is plug or should the fans not be running?
 
Could you list out your specs in detail, to help get a picture of what power demands your system would have? 🙂

Power supplies that are not plugged into a motherboard should stay turned off when you plug them in. If they're plugged into a motherboard, then they might turn on when you plug the PSU in, or they might not... it depends on whether the motherboard is configured to power itself up after a power failure or not.

Big picture: if you're building an nForce4 rig with a decent gaming card in it, then a TruePower330 is not really the right tool for the job in my opinion. Something like a 500W Fortron Blue Storm or a 460W Enermax Whisper II 24-pin, now you're cookin' with gas 😀
 
I could be over-reacting, at least it's a quality-brand unit. 🙂 Top reasons why motherboards won't POST include

1) the mobo isn't mounted on standoffs and therefore is short-circuiting.

2) the owner forgot to plug in all the power cables, such as the ATX12V cable and in your case, the EZ Plug.

3) because you've got a 20-pin cable in a 24-pin receptacle, you want to be sure to plug it into the right 20 holes :Q If your manual doesn't show precisely which 20 holes to use, then look at this picture and note that the little "catch" on the side of the receptacles is at their left edge... rotate the picture 180° if your mobo has the catch on the other side: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/mechBgon/ASUS_A8N_SLI_DELUXE_POWER_RQs.gif

They did put in just about the MOST crazy location possible 😕 I wouldn't have seen it if I weren't specifically looking for it. Did that get the system running?
 
I have a list of no-POST/no-run causes in a document you can get from here: http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/index.html the first link on the page there. You don't have a massive power load there, I'd think a quality 330W unit would at least get it to POST 😕 Is your TruePower330 one of the newer ones that has 22 amps on the 12V rail? Its label will say.
