It actually sounds like static electricity. Like when you touch a doorhandle and get a shock but louder.

LOL funny thread title. Made my day. Sorry, I can't help you though.
Does moving the case any make it "talk"? If so, it could be a fan nipping a wire. I had that problem once. Is it a pop or a click? Pops are very bad, clicks amybe not so.

Could be your PSU though. My friend knew his was dying...but he didn't think it would burn-at-the-stake. It literally went up in flame. Luckily he was there to put it out.

If you can take the case off the computer, that could be very telling. Stick your ear kinda near it so you can tell if its coming in the CPU direction, or the PSU direction.

Hehe :-o

Well actually I could be a pop or a click, depending on who is listening and what his definition of pop and click is. To me it sounds more like a click than a pop.

Its definately not my fan clipping anything, I made sure to tie everything down.

Also I wish I could predict when its going to occur, but I really cant. It happens maybe once or twice a day at random intervals. Unless I stick my head in the case for 5-6 hours I wouldnt be able to hear it enough to be able to tell which direction it is.

I know its not my hard drive because I took the hard drives out of my case and put them on the table beside me running to see it if was the hard drive. After a few hours the sound DEFINATELY came from inside my case.

The ceramic coils down by the CPU can make noise.. If they are its a motherbord issue and there is little that can be done about it.. (other then RMAing the board)

It is normaly a clicking noise.

your not helping. . . . .just to let you know.....

do you have the internal speaker hooked up? see if your getting some odd voltage on the leads of it with a volt meter mabye the board is sending some sort of rampent voltage to it? just a thought........ good luck.

Ceramic coils? where are they located? Im using a zalman 7000B cpu cooler btw, and used AS5. It would be kind of like electricity clicking right? If this is the case should I be worried that my computer will blow up soon or is this a benign problem?

Cool I'll try that. I have a DFI Karajan module btw, Its kind of external as it has to be plugged in as opposed to already being on the mobo.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

they look like little white rings of "stone" wraped with copper wire.. and they are attached to the motherboard.
If this is the issue it should be possible to listen for it (once you identify them you can pretty much determian if this is the issue just by listening for it while the rig is running)
and no the computer isn't going to blow up if this is the problem, many people have this issue and it has been ongoing for years, its more of an irratation then actually somthing being wrong with your computer.
and the sound is kindof a mecanical clicking noise (like the stone is vibrating inside the copper coils and making the noise)

This thing's going pretty far, and yet, it has nothing to do with a talking computer.
