i have a problem with my computer. It does not send a signal to my mouse and video card and keyboard. I also cant turn off my computer w/ the power switch or reset button. I can only turn it off when i pull the plug. When i plug back the power switch, my computer just turns on to a black screen. The bios screen doesnt even come up and the only way i can turn it off is by pulling the plug again. I tried unpluggin my harddrive and even the motherboard batteries but it still does the same thing, so that means i cant format either. I think i might have pushed the sleep button before all this happenned. Has anyone ever heard of this problem. My mother board is an Iwill VD133. Please help..

<< Hmmm.. it might be that your motherboard is toast :( >>

Sounds like this could be the case.

But I would first try to see if you can get an error code from the bios in the form of a beep. I would start by removing everything but the ram. You should get 8 short and fast beeps (no video error).

If you don't get any beeps then I would try removing the ram and you should get a beep about every second (no ram error).
If neither of these work then I would say that you have a dead mother board.

You could have short somewhere as well. Take everything out of the case, including the motherboard . Hook up powersuply, video card, keyboard and floppy (nothing else) and see if it will boot for you.

The "reset" button should work regardless of the defective CPU/motherboard. It cuts off the power signal when you push it in.

Also, you need to hold the "Power" button down for 4 seconds in order for the "soft off" switch to work (on ATX cases).
