My computer reboots when I turn on my monitor

Yep....turning on the monitor results in me being greeted by the BIOS startup screen. I don't know why this is happening. I thought maybe it's cause I have so many things plugged into my power strip, but most of the stuff is either turned off or idle and drawing very little current.

Sounds like a power problem to me.

Turning on my TV in my parents' house made the lights all dim & flicker, I'm sure if it had gone much lower my PC would have restarted too.

Mine doesn't do anything to the computer, but I'd bet it's power. About 33% of the time I turn my monitor on after the computer's on (I shut the monitor off at night), my UPS will beep due to overdraw. It's not big enough to trip the fuse, or trigger a shutdown on the PC, but it just lets me know that the turn on power can sometimes be a little high. It's fine while running, though. If it wasn't a UPS, it might draw enough to lower the PC power to the point of rebooting.

19" monitor and PC with tons O' crap in it on a 700VA UPS.

it's just when first turning the monitor on...maybe the large capacitors inside the monitor initially draw too much current when turning the monitor on..but i don't really know
