Could someone please help me with my computer? It "farts" a lot...probably 2-3 times a minute. One of the fans is makes a noise like a car revving up real quick. Nothing is getting in the fans way, I checked for wires, and it doesn't quite the grinding noise of something hitting the fan blades. It's loud, but I have no idea where is is coming from. My CPU fan is set to automatic RPM, and it didn't used to make the noise until recently, so I am out of ideas.

if the noise is coming from JUST your fans, then there's a good chance that they are going (or about to go) bad i.e. stop spinning altogether. might be time to invest in some new fans ;)

could be your smaller ( 40mm ) fans too. gpu or northbridge fans, if you have them, tend to go bad quick.
i just had to remove the northbridge fan from my new mobo... took me like a week before i found the offending noise...

I agree could be fan could be vibration from a fan....Check fans then check if the rpms are actually cahnging...If the rpms are reving up and down with no major temp gradiant then the psu could be an issue...Check voltages for major fluctuations....

I had similar crap. The problem was much smaller - CPU fan blades were hiting inner power cable trio, making a "farting" sound like the car reving up. I just unscrewed the fan. and rearranged the cables. Soon - the same happened to my VGA card. See if it helps any
